YarnProof Launches FibreTrace Physical Verification for Polyester Filament Yarn in North and Central America

The initiative brings together regional polyester filament yarn manufacturers to enable physical origin verification and support supply chain compliance under USMCA and CAFTA-DR.

Polyester filament yarn manufacturers across North and Central America have launched YarnProof™, powered by FibreTrace® technology, to enable physical verification of regional origin throughout the textile value chain.

The initiative embeds an invisible, persistent tracer directly into polyester filament yarn during extrusion. This allows materials to carry a verifiable origin signature from production through the life of the product, providing brands, manufacturers and regulators with an additional layer of physical evidence alongside existing supply chain documentation.

FibreTrace Enables Physical Origin Verification

YarnProof uses FibreTrace technology to verify the origin of materials at different stages of the supply chain. A handheld scanner detects the embedded tracer in yarn, fabric and finished products in real time.

Each scan performed by an authorised participant creates a verification event linking the physical material to supporting production and sourcing records. The system is designed to complement existing documentation and help strengthen trade integrity, protect compliant supply chains and support regional manufacturing.

The initiative also provides an additional layer of assurance for yarn-forward requirements under the Dominican Republic–Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) and the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Regional Manufacturers Join the Initiative

The participating polyester filament yarn manufacturers are:

  • Aquafil O’Mara, Inc.
  • CS America, Inc.
  • CS Central America, S.A. de C.V.
  • Nan Ya Plastics Corporation, America
  • Premiere Fibers, LLC
  • Skytex México, S.A. de C.V.
  • Tecnología Textil Avanzada S.A.
  • Textufil S.A. de C.V.
  • Unifi Manufacturing, Inc.
  • United Textiles of America

The manufacturers have joined the initiative to strengthen the integrity of regional production through physical verification of materials.

FibreTrace Highlights the Role of Physical Evidence

Danielle Statham, Founder and Owner of FibreTrace, said, “We commend the polyester filament yarn manufacturers across North and Central America for coming together to lead this,” said Danielle Statham, Founder and Owner of FibreTrace. “To our knowledge, this is the first regional group of fiber producers to collaborate at this scale to strengthen their position through physical verification. By collectively adopting physical verification of materials, they are moving beyond individual origin claims and creating a shared verification framework that connects physical evidence with supporting production and sourcing records. They are not simply telling the market where their fiber comes from — they are giving the market a way to verify it.”

According to the announcement, YarnProof enables downstream supply chain participants to examine the physical material itself rather than relying solely on documentation. The embedded tracer is intended to help manufacturers substantiate origin claims and give brands additional evidence to support sourcing statements.

The initiative makes FibreTrace-enabled polyester filament yarn sourceable across North and Central America, providing brands with another option for incorporating physical verification into their sourcing and supply chain processes.
