Yarn Expo Spring 2026 to Showcase Eco Yarn Revolution

Global Yarn and Fibre Platform Accelerates Green Transformation
Yarn Expo Spring 2026 in Shanghai will highlight sustainable yarns, innovative fibres, and industry collaboration, driving global textile transformation.
Building on the success of its previous edition, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 will return from 11–13 March 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, to further advance the dialogue on sustainability in the yarn and fibre sectors. The 2025 show drew nearly 24,000 visitors from 123 countries and regions, featuring more than 560 exhibitors and setting a record for participation and innovation. Interest in regenerated and sustainable fibres led the event, with 57% of visitors sourcing in this category, underscoring a decisive global shift toward environmentally responsible textiles.
Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, remarked:
“The remarkable business results and feedback from our previous edition demonstrate the industry's unwavering commitment to sustainable innovation. As we approach Yarn Expo Spring 2026, we are witnessing a further convergence of market demand, technological advancement, and environmental responsibility. The show’s position as Asia’s premier yarn and fibre platform has never been stronger, and we anticipate another global showcase of cutting-edge solutions, as the industry accelerates its vital work towards a greener future.”
Sustainability Driving Market Growth
The global sustainable yarn market continues to expand rapidly, projected to rise from USD 5.2 billion in 2026 to around USD 10.1 billion by 2033, with a CAGR of 7.6%. This surge is fuelled by consumer demand for eco-conscious products, stricter environmental standards, and advancements in sustainable fibre technology. Natural, plant-based yarns — including cotton, linen, hemp, and bamboo — remain dominant due to their renewable and biodegradable nature.
By aligning with this global sustainability movement, Yarn Expo Spring 2026, held concurrently with Intertextile Apparel Fabrics, Intertextile Home Textiles, CHIC, and PH Value, will provide an essential platform for connecting sustainable innovators, suppliers, and buyers from across the textile value chain.
Sustainability in Practice: Exhibitor Perspectives
Highlighting exhibitor success from the 2025 edition, Mr. SM Ameer, Director of Din Industries, Pakistan, shared:
“We specialise in manufacturing a variety of yarns, including 100% cotton blends and synthetic options. We even offer fancy yarns for knitting and weaving. Sustainability is a key focus for us; we work with natural, regenerated, and recycled fibres. At this fair, we’ve encountered many more buyers than expected, with strong interest from France, Indonesia, and Türkiye.”
Inspiring Innovation Through Knowledge Exchange
The 2026 edition will deepen its focus on innovation and sustainability through a comprehensive fringe programme, featuring:
- China Fibers Fashion Trends Show
- China Fibers and Yarns Fashion Trends
- Textile Materials Innovation Forum
- Enterprise Product Launch events
These sessions will showcase breakthrough technologies and market insights, strengthening the fair’s role as a global stage for the next generation of sustainable yarns and fibres.
Mr. Wenchao Ma, Head of R&D at Dezhou Shangkai Tex Co. Ltd, commented on the previous edition’s value:
“We are participating at Yarn Expo Spring to better understand the latest trends in the textile industry. We visited many leading companies who brought their featured products, such as BioFleax staple fibre, and we had the opportunity to observe new product launches at innovative forums. Through in-depth exchanges with industry players, the fair also guides our company’s future innovation and development.”
