Yarn Expo Spring 2026 to Highlight Sustainable and High-Performance Synthetic Yarns

The global synthetic yarn industry is forecast to reach USD 287 billion by 2030, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 4% between 2024 and 2030, supported by its wide application across apparel, home textiles, and technical textiles. Demand continues to rise for fibres that combine performance with sustainability, particularly in sportswear, medical textiles, and interior furnishings. Many of these developments will be presented at Yarn Expo Spring 2026, scheduled from 11 to 13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai.
The exhibition is expected to welcome more than 600 exhibitors across 27,000 square metres, drawing textile producers and buyers from across the Asia-Pacific region. The fair will provide a sourcing and networking platform focused on emerging materials, product innovation, and environmentally responsible yarn and fibre solutions.
Sustainability is becoming a central theme within the synthetic yarn sector as manufacturers and brands work to reduce environmental impact while responding to changing consumer preferences. Increased adoption of recycled PET fibres, biodegradable polymers, and cleaner manufacturing technologies is reshaping product development strategies. Investment in recycled and bio-based yarns has also accelerated as part of the industry’s broader transition toward circular production models.
Within this context, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 will act as a meeting point for textile leaders from major producing markets such as China, India, and Japan, enabling knowledge exchange and collaboration around scalable and lower-impact fibre solutions.
The fair’s fringe programme will once again include features such as the Green Fibres Certification Display Area and the Textile Industry New Products Release Forum, both of which drew strong interest in the previous edition. These platforms will continue to present new fibre developments, raise awareness of sustainability standards, and encourage dialogue on responsible manufacturing practices.
A range of established synthetic yarn and fibre producers will present their latest offerings at the show. Among the participating companies:
- Everest Textile Co Ltd (Taiwan) will present polyester and nylon yarns with a focus on recycled and traceable materials, including ocean-recovered PET and modified recycled polyester designed for lower-temperature dyeing and reduced resource use.
- Shaoxing Guozhou Textile New Material Co Ltd (China) will showcase dyed synthetic and blended yarns, including melange varieties produced using VORTEX® spinning technology, known for strength, low hairiness, and resistance to pilling. The company operates under multiple quality and environmental certification systems, including ISO 9001, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, OCS, and GOTS.
- Toray Industries Inc (Japan) will highlight its Toray Premium GOUSEN select™ fibre series, developed for applications requiring durability, comfort, and functional performance. These fibres form part of the company’s wider portfolio of recycled and bio-based synthetic materials.
Yarn Expo Spring is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT. It will take place alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC, and PH Value, creating opportunities for cross-sector sourcing and business exchange.
The exhibition will be held from 11 to 13 March 2026 in Shanghai. Additional upcoming events under the same series include:
- Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT), 26 – 28 February 2026, Ho Chi Minh City
- Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics / Yarn Expo Shenzhen, 9 – 11 June 2026, Shenzhen (Futian)
- Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition / Yarn Expo Autumn, 25 – 27 August 2026, Shanghai
