Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 to Showcase Advanced Fibres and Sustainable Yarn Innovations in Shanghai

Global yarn and fibre industry event to feature international exhibitors, trend zones, and sustainability-focused materials from 25 – 27 August 2026
Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 will take place from 25 – 27 August at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, bringing together global yarn and fibre suppliers, buyers, and industry professionals. The event is expected to highlight developments in sustainable materials, advanced fibres, and textile innovation through exhibitions, forums, and trend-focused showcases.
The previous edition attracted more than 22,000 visitors and nearly 580 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, reflecting continued international participation across the yarn and fibre sector.
Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 to return to Shanghai
Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 is set to return to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 25 – 27 August 2026. The exhibition will present a broad range of fibre and yarn products while also hosting forums, trend display areas, and industry-focused programmes designed to support innovation and sustainability across the textile value chain.
Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented:
“Yarn Expo Autumn remains a platform where the industry can access the latest yarn and fibre trends, technologies and sustainable solutions. By bringing together leading exhibitors, curated trend displays and in-depth forums under one roof, the fair helps fairgoers navigate fast-changing market demands and identify new growth opportunities. Held alongside Intertextile Apparel and two further complementary fairs, the upcoming edition will enable visitors to source across the textile value chain in one trip, while promoting leading exhibitors whose innovations are shaping the sector’s future.”
China continues to hold a major share in global textile and apparel exports, accounting for around 40 – 45% of worldwide textile exports and roughly one third of global clothing exports. Supported by integrated supply chains, large-scale manufacturing, and logistics infrastructure, the country remains an important hub for textile product launches and sourcing activities.
The previous edition of Yarn Expo Autumn included dedicated pavilions and zones representing India, Pakistan, and Taiwan, alongside product showcases such as Polylana® fibre from The Movement B.V. (Netherlands), presented as a lower-impact synthetic wool alternative.
Specialised zones and international participation
The 2026 edition will feature dedicated areas covering cashmere, chemical fibres, cotton, fancy yarns, green linen yarn, silk yarn, and quality wool yarns. The International Zone will include suppliers such as Cotton Council International (USA), PT. Indo-Rama Synthetics Tbk (Indonesia), and Toray Industries Inc (Japan).
“Yarn Expo Autumn is an exceptional platform for connecting with international buyers and engaging with existing customers,” said Mr Muhammad Mubeen, Director of Abtex International (Pvt) Ltd (Pakistan), exhibiting at the previous edition. “Many of our target buyers attend, making it a prime opportunity for networking and one of the best venues to explore yarn sales opportunities. Exhibiting allows us to gain valuable insights into market trends, helping us identify in-demand products and unique offerings, which enables us to tailor our efforts effectively and introduce new products to the market.”
First-time exhibitors at the previous autumn edition also highlighted the exhibition’s role in expanding supply chain connections and market access.
“This is our first Yarn Expo Autumn, which we joined to engage with new audiences after eight years in the Chinese market,” said Mr Jimad Khan, International Sales & Marketing Manager of Perino by Woolyarns (New Zealand). “The experience has been positive, with strong interest, enquiries and sample requests. We focus on natural fibres, with demand increasing due to European traceability legislation and China’s emphasis on quality. The fair is important for connecting with the entire supply chain, from fibre suppliers to weavers and fabric producers.”
Focus on sustainability and industry demand
Industry feedback from the previous edition reflected growing buyer attention toward traceability, environmental performance, and product quality. Market studies referenced by the organisers also indicate continued growth in demand for organic, recycled, and lower-impact yarn and fibre materials, with Asia remaining central to sourcing and production activities.
The organisers stated that Yarn Expo Autumn 2026 will provide an opportunity for suppliers and buyers to explore next-generation yarns and fibres, discuss sustainability requirements, and develop partnerships linked to the China market.
The exhibition will be held alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition, CHIC, and PH Value, bringing together segments including fibres and yarns, apparel fabrics, fashion, accessories, and knitted garments under one venue.
Yarn Expo Autumn is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT.
