Yarn Expo Autumn 2025 to Spotlight Sustainable Yarn Trends in Shanghai

Yarn Expo Autumn 2025 is set to welcome the global textile industry from 2 to 4 September at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The event, co-located with Intertextile Apparel, will provide a vital platform for international business exchange and innovation, with a strong focus on sustainability and functional materials.

At its previous edition, the expo hosted around 540 exhibitors and attracted nearly 22,000 visitors from 81 countries and regions. In 2025, the fair continues to spotlight sustainable solutions and advanced fibre technologies, strengthening its reputation as a must-attend event in the global yarn and fibre industry.

Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, stated: “Yarn Expo aims to foster sustainability, innovation, and global collaboration in the yarn and fibre sector. Despite global uncertainties, we remain committed to providing a high-value platform that supports industry growth.”

With the global yarn, fibre, and thread market expected to reach USD 138.8 billion by 2029 at a CAGR of 6.4%, Yarn Expo Autumn offers valuable sourcing opportunities aligned with growing demand for eco-conscious and high-performance materials.

The 2024 edition featured popular segments like the India Pavilion, Pakistan Zone, and International Zone, along with product-specific sections including regenerated, synthetic, cotton, and specialty yarns.

Returning exhibitor Mr Shailesh Jain, Director of Shanti Rayons India Pvt Ltd, praised the expo’s innovation: “Yarn Expo offers access to products I haven’t seen before, including sustainable fibres like Chinese seaweed yarn. Its fringe events like the trend forum are highly beneficial.”
