World Trade Center (WTC) Mumbai has partnered with MY Bharat, a Government of India initiative, to address India’s youth unemployment crisis and the parallel industry demand for a skilled workforce. At a joint event organized by WTC Mumbai and the All India Association of Industries (AIAI), Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of WTC Mumbai and President of AIAI, emphasized the urgent need for a strong skilling ecosystem to support India’s transition to a developed economy by 2047. “India’s youth must become a national asset. To achieve the developed nation status, the country must increase its GDP per worker by six to seven times,” he said.

Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, World Trade Center Mumbai and President, All India Association of Industries (AIAI), addressing the audience during the event.

Dr. Kalantri hailed the MY Bharat initiative as a strategic move toward engaging young citizens in meaningful ways. “Indian youth are dynamic and full of ideas. WTC Mumbai is proud to support this initiative through our Skill Centre, which already provides training to MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, and startups,” he added.

Mr. Raghavendra Singh, Product Head – Strategy and Marketing at MY Bharat, elaborated on the platform’s objectives. Launched in October 2023 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, MY Bharat aims to connect youth with government bodies, educational institutions, NGOs, and businesses. With AI and tech-driven matchmaking, the platform now hosts around 1.75 crore youth profiles. Singh highlighted its unique "phygital" experience—blending digital tools with physical learning opportunities such as mentoring, volunteering, quizzes, and more.

He also invited businesses to create dedicated pages on the MY Bharat portal to offer tailored opportunities to the youth. “WTC Mumbai and AIAI were among the earliest supporters. Now we seek broader industry collaboration to refine the platform based on actual youth needs,” Singh said.

Importantly, the platform provides government-certified learning credentials and access to nationwide youth talent through a single interface.

The event concluded with an interactive demonstration of the MY Bharat portal and a Q&A session. Captain Somesh Batra, Vice Chairman of WTC Mumbai, delivered the vote of thanks.
