Woolmark is an accreditation program for reclaimed wool.

For the first time in its 60-year existence, Woolmark has expanded its certification program to include a recycled wool standard. The new 'Recycled Wool' sub-brand adheres to the RW-1 specification, marking a significant step toward a more sustainable textile sector. Woolmark's new accreditation confirms that items include at least 20% recycled wool and exceed the program's high quality standards. This applies to both pre-consumer (fabric cutting waste) and post-consumer items. The Woolmark Company's managing director, John Roberts, stressed wool's global status as the most recycled garment textile. "Our new recycled wool mark supports the shift from a linear to a circular production model, reducing waste and pollution," Roberts explained. Despite the fact that wool accounts for only 1% of the garment fiber market, this program seeks to encourage wool reuse and repurposing in order to keep it in circulation for longer.   Woolmark's long-standing efforts to encourage a circular industry have been expanded with the launch of recycled wool. Since 1964, the Woolmark logo has promoted the creation of natural, long-lasting products, demonstrating the organization's dedication to sustainability.
