Wiliot and CISC Partner to Scale High-Volume Testing of Battery-Free IoT Pixels

CISC’s BLE Xplorer supports testing speeds of up to 6,500 IoT Pixels per hour per lane and enables standardized quality checks for manufacturers
Wiliot, a global leader in Physical AI for supply chains, and CISC Semiconductor, a provider of testing and measurement solutions for wireless identification technologies, have announced a partnership focused on high-volume functional testing of Wiliot’s battery-free IoT Pixels.
CISC has optimized its BLE Xplorer testing solution for Wiliot’s IoT Pixels and integrated it with the Wiliot Physical AI platform. The system can be incorporated into reel-to-reel production equipment or used as a dedicated offline tester, providing label and tag manufacturers with a standardized testing option for different production environments.
Standardized Testing for IoT Pixel Production
Testing infrastructure can be a complex part of establishing new IoT Pixel production lines, as suppliers may need to develop customized equipment and processes before manufacturing begins.
BLE Xplorer provides a repeatable testing approach intended to support supplier onboarding and expand manufacturing capacity for Wiliot’s IoT Pixels.

Testing Speeds of Up to 6,500 Units per Hour
BLE Xplorer can test up to 6,500 units per hour, per lane on a single station. This compares with approximately 1,500 units per hour for a conventional stop-and-go testing station.
Each unit receives an individual pass-or-fail result, allowing manufacturers to test 100% of production output.
The BLE Xplorer architecture can also increase aggregate throughput by operating multiple testing stations in parallel as production volumes and equipment configurations change.
Near-Field Testing and Unit-Level Data
The system performs a near-field functionality test on IoT Pixels to confirm that each unit is operational and responds correctly.
Through its connection with the Wiliot Physical AI platform, test results are recorded at the individual-unit level. This enables manufacturers to identify nonfunctioning IoT Pixels before they progress through the production process.
BLE Xplorer can connect with new and existing reel-to-reel equipment through trigger lines, serial interfaces and general-purpose input/output hardware connections. The system can synchronize with production machinery, enable automated sorting or marking according to test results, and record production data for individual units.
Specialized antenna configurations are used to isolate the unit under test in dense production environments, helping ensure that each test result is linked to the correct IoT Pixel.
Where testing throughput does not match the operating speed of conversion machinery, BLE Xplorer can instead be deployed as a dedicated offline testing system.
BLE Xplorer Inline Supports Production-Line Testing

Wiliot Physical AI Platform
Wiliot’s Physical AI platform creates a continuous, scan-free sensing layer across supply chains using battery-free Bluetooth IoT Pixels that harvest energy from ambient radio waves.
The platform uses AI and machine learning models to process signals and convert data related to location, temperature, humidity, movement, dwell time and other conditions into real-time intelligence and automated workflows.

CISC to Begin BLE Xplorer Pre-Sales in September
CISC is scheduled to begin pre-sales for BLE Xplorer in September 2026.
The solution will debut at LOUPE Americas 2026 in Chicago in September, with the first customer deliveries scheduled for the end of Q3-2026.
