Volvo CE Launches EC650 Mining Excavator at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026

65-tonne excavator joins Volvo CE’s mining portfolio as the company showcases construction, compacting, mining and electric equipment solutions
Volvo Construction Equipment India has commercially launched the EC650, a 65T class excavator, at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, adding the machine to its mining equipment line-up.
Powered by the Volvo D13E engine delivering 435 hp, the EC650 features a robust undercarriage, heavy-duty boom and arm, and advanced hydraulics. The machine is engineered for durability and fuel efficiency across mass excavation and mining applications. It is available for immediate delivery to mining customers as the buying season begins and will also be offered through Volvo’s Equipment-as-a-Service offering.
EC650 Joins Volvo CE’s Mining Line-Up
Volvo CE is supporting the EC650 with connected services, productivity solutions, repair and maintenance agreements, and application-led offerings covering the equipment lifecycle. The company said these services are intended to support uptime, efficiency and overall site performance.
The EC650 is being showcased as part of Volvo CE’s mining line-up at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026. Its launch also forms part of the company’s “Aaj Banayein Kal” campaign, which calls on India’s builders to contribute to the country’s future infrastructure development.
Construction and Mining Equipment on Display
At Volvo CE’s stand in the Construction & Industrial zone, the company is displaying its 20-tonne excavator range, comprising the EC210, EC215 and EC220. The machines are positioned for applications including road construction, urban construction, quarrying and river-bed mining.
The display also includes the EC300, SD110, DD90 and L120 Electric Wheel Loader.
In the Mining zone, Volvo CE is showcasing the EC480, EC650 and L150, with the equipment presented around specific applications rather than individual products.
The showcase is connected to Volvo CE’s “Aaj Banayein Kal” (“Let’s Build Tomorrow, Today”) campaign, which presents India’s infrastructure story through the dreams of children and the contractors, customers and operators involved in building the country.
Volvo CE Highlights Mining Equipment Requirements
Speaking at the event, Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo Construction Equipment India, said: "India's mining sector is operating at a scale and intensity like never before, and it demands equipment that cannot just perform reliably in the toughest and most demanding conditions, but also are fuel efficient and responsive to operators. With the EC650, we're not just adding a machine to our mining line-up - we're giving India's mining operators a partner they can rely on for every shift. That's the kind of dependability the country's growth story needs, and that's what we intend to deliver as India moves forward on its journey toward a stronger, more sustainable Viksit Bharat."
