Vipul Organics’ ADIMEM Technologies Acquires Membrane Manufacturing Platform from Aquaporin

Acquisition adds advanced casting, coating and drying infrastructure to ADIMEM’s Sayakha facility in Gujarat
Vipul Organics Limited has announced that its membrane unit, ADIMEM Technologies, has acquired an industrial membrane sheet manufacturing platform from the Denmark facility of Aquaporin, a Danish membrane technology company. The acquisition was completed through a competitive bidding process, with the platform set to be relocated to ADIMEM’s manufacturing facility in Sayakha, Gujarat.
The acquired infrastructure includes precision membrane casting, coating and drying systems, along with related process-control and manufacturing equipment. The production-grade platform was previously used by Aquaporin for membrane development and production.
Acquisition Strengthens Membrane Manufacturing Capabilities
For advanced Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Nanofiltration (NF) membranes, manufacturing performance depends on precise and consistent control of production parameters alongside membrane chemistry. According to Vipul Organics, the acquisition provides ADIMEM with established manufacturing infrastructure that would otherwise require significant time to develop internally.
ADIMEM is already operating as a commercial membrane business, with capabilities covering indigenous membrane research and development, product development, element manufacturing, quality control, performance testing and application engineering.
The addition of advanced casting and coating infrastructure is expected to strengthen ADIMEM’s in-house manufacturing capabilities and further integrate the membrane value chain within India.
“This acquisition is an important step in our vision of building a globally competitive membrane technology business from India,” says Mr. Vipul P. Shah, Managing Director, Vipul Organics Limited. “Winning this platform through a competitive bidding process, and bringing proven manufacturing infrastructure from a respected Danish membrane technology company to Sayakha, meaningfully strengthens our vertical integration and supports the Make in India vision.”
Dr. Vatsal Shah, who leads ADIMEM Technologies, said, “Membrane performance is won as much in the precision of casting, coating and drying as it is in chemistry. This platform gives us exactly that kind of advanced, production-proven infrastructure. Combined with our indigenous R&D and existing element manufacturing, testing and application engineering capabilities, it strengthens our ability to develop and manufacture world-class RO and NF membranes in India, for India and for the world.”
Platform to Support Multiple Membrane Technologies
The strengthened manufacturing platform will support ADIMEM’s portfolio across Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nanofiltration (NF), Ultrafiltration (UF), Microfiltration (MF) and Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technologies.
These technologies are used across applications including industrial water treatment, wastewater recycling, desalination and specialised process separations.
The acquisition forms part of Vipul Organics’ strategy to expand into high-technology and sustainability-driven businesses while strengthening its capabilities in advanced membrane manufacturing.
