VIATT 2027 to Highlight Vietnam’s Growing Textile Sourcing Opportunities

Trade fair returns to Ho Chi Minh City from 24–26 February 2027, covering apparel fabrics, home textiles, technical textiles and production technologies
Vietnam’s textile and garment industry is expanding into higher value-added manufacturing, creating sourcing opportunities for international suppliers of fabrics, raw materials, machinery and sustainability solutions. The Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) will take place from 24–26 February 2027, bringing together manufacturers, brands, sourcing offices, retailers and industry buyers from Vietnam, ASEAN and other markets.
Vietnam’s Textile Industry Moves Towards Higher Value-Added Production
Vietnam’s textile and garment sector is gradually moving beyond its traditional cut-make-trim (CMT) model, with more manufacturers developing original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and original design manufacturing (ODM) capabilities.
This transition is being influenced by industry upgrading priorities, changing trade conditions, buyer requirements and increasing expectations for traceability and environmental performance. Manufacturers are placing greater emphasis on operational efficiency, technology upgrades, digital transformation and production standards.
These developments are creating demand for international expertise and products across the textile value chain. VIATT 2027 will address these requirements through three main product sectors: Apparel Fabrics & Fashion, Home & Contract Textiles, and Technical Textiles & Technologies.
Apparel Fabrics & Fashion: Demand for Quality and Functional Materials
Vietnam’s fashion industry is gaining international visibility through local craftsmanship, social media marketing and celebrity endorsements. Vietnamese labels such as Fanci Club, La Lune and Cong Tri have dressed international stars, contributing to the country’s growing profile as a fashion hub.
This development is supporting demand for fashionable, high-quality and performance-oriented fabrics.
The Apparel Fabrics & Fashion zone at VIATT 2027 will feature fashion fabrics, fibres, yarns, accessories, prints, trims, functional materials and garment manufacturing solutions. Product categories will range from performance textiles to high-end shirting and suiting.
The zone will also feature the new Fashion Manufacturing Hub and international showcases, including the European Zone, presenting products focused on quality, sustainability and technology.
Fashion shows, display areas and workshops are also planned to support product visibility and sourcing activities.
Home & Contract Textiles: Opportunities in Residential and Hospitality Markets
Vietnam’s home textile market was valued at around USD 747 million in 2025 and is forecast to exceed USD 970 million by 2030. Demand is being supported by residential and commercial applications, alongside growth in tourism and hospitality.
The country is expected to add more than 46,000 hotel rooms between 2026 and 2029, following one of the region’s highest mid-to-luxury hotel growth rates over the past decade.
VIATT’s Home & Contract Textiles zone will connect suppliers with buyers from the retail, interiors, property and hospitality sectors. Exhibited products will include bedding, towels, upholstery fabrics, curtains, wallcoverings, decorative fabrics, bed and bath linens, and durable interior textiles for residential and commercial projects.
The zone will provide a sourcing platform for domestic buyers and international suppliers responding to demand across residential, commercial and hospitality markets.
Previous editions have welcomed home textile exhibitors from China, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Thailand and Vietnam.
Technical Textiles & Technologies: Supporting Industrial Upgrading
As Vietnamese manufacturers move towards higher value-added production, demand is growing for technical textiles, functional fabrics, machinery, finishing technologies and advanced manufacturing solutions.
Potential application areas include protective textiles, sportswear, medical textiles and industrial nonwovens. The global nonwoven fabric market is projected to grow from USD 61 billion in 2025 to more than USD 86 billion by 2031, presenting potential opportunities for suppliers serving Vietnam’s currently limited domestic production capabilities.
The Technical Textiles & Technologies zone will cover products and machinery across technical and industrial textile applications.
The returning Textile Chemicals & Dyes Zone will showcase chemical and dyeing solutions, colouration systems, treatment processes and material-enhancement technologies designed to support performance, sustainability and production efficiency.
International Participation and Buyer Engagement
The 2026 edition of VIATT recorded more than 17,000 visits from 54 represented markets. Its top 10 visitor countries and regions included China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam.
For 2027, international exhibitor participation will be supported by country and regional pavilions, including the returning China, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand Pavilions.
The pavilions will cover all three main product sectors, providing platforms for suppliers across the textile industry to present their products and connect with buyers.
The fair will also feature the sector-integrated Trend Forum, dedicated product zones and a fringe programme intended to support market insights and business discussions across the textile value chain.
Sustainability Initiatives at VIATT 2027
Sustainability will remain a central theme through the fair’s Texpertise Econogy initiatives.
- Econogy Hub: Showcases sustainable products, certifications and solutions.
- Econogy Finder: Increases the visibility of verified sustainable exhibitors through the online directory and physical visitor guide.
- Econogy Talks: Hosts seminars and panel discussions on responsible sourcing and production.
These initiatives will provide additional opportunities for visitors to explore sustainability-related products, standards and manufacturing approaches.
