VIATT 2026 will debut its inaugural Trend Forum in Ho Chi Minh City, presenting a unified Spring/Summer 2027 lifestyle trend outlook spanning fashion, home textiles, and technical applications.

The Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) will launch its first-ever Trend Forum at the 2026 edition of the exhibition, offering an integrated trend forecast for Spring/Summer 2027. The event will take place from 26–28 February 2026 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), with trend curation led by NellyRodi™ Agency and MUSEATIVE.

The Trend Forum will present lifestyle-driven themes across Apparel Fabrics & Fashion, Home & Contract Textiles, and Technical Textiles & Technologies. Under the overarching concept of ARTISANSHIP, the initiative departs from conventional sector-based trend presentations by examining how shared lifestyle values influence clothing, interiors, and technology simultaneously. The four sub-themes to be explored are TO WORK, TO RELAX, TO HAVE FUN, and TO CREATE, reflecting daily activities that shape design and material choices.

“The launch of VIATT's inaugural Trend Forum marks an important new step for this fair,” stated Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “Leveraging Messe Frankfurt’s nearly three decades of leadership in coordinating apparel and home textiles trend forecasting – a track record of consistently setting industry benchmarks – we are now extending this unparalleled expertise to enlighten the entire textile value chain. Utilising the expertise of our top-level trend curators, this holistic approach is designed to deliver unparalleled insights, foster robust innovation, and empower businesses to anticipate and shape consumer preferences with greater precision and relevance.”

The Lifestyle Trends are designed as a cross-sector framework that links fashion design, interior environments, and technical product interfaces, reflecting how human behaviour influences material and product development.

Mr Kai Chow, Lead Curator of the VIATT Trend Forum and Creative Director of MUSEATIVE, described the approach: “Rather than treating fashion, home, and technology as separate worlds, the Trend Forum presents lifestyle trends as a shared design language – one that shapes what we wear, how we live, and how we engage with the products around us. Instead of presenting trends in isolation, it demonstrates how a single mindset can influence products, spaces, and technologies simultaneously. Because these themes are rooted in human behaviour, they naturally scale across sectors – creating one coherent language that connects what we wear, how we live, and the materials and technologies that support everyday life.”

For Spring/Summer 2027, ARTISANSHIP will be expressed through four thematic narratives developed by NellyRodi™ Agency:

TO WORK focuses on calm urban living, with fluid tailoring and softly structured garments paired with restorative home textiles such as cushions and drapery. Colours are drawn from natural tones accented with slate blue and black, while fabrics emphasise softness, tactility, and sustainability.

TO RELAX highlights leisure and informality through airy fabrics and relaxed silhouettes. Pastels and sunlit brights dominate the palette, with materials such as linen, cotton voile, and chambray. Design directions include hand-drawn botanicals, romantic florals, and nautical references.

TO HAVE FUN introduces an expressive and decorative aesthetic, using rich hues such as cobalt, crimson, and royal purple balanced with deep teal and midnight blue. Fabrics include brocade and jacquard, with applications extending from statement interiors to embellished fashion and experimental technical textiles.

TO CREATE centres on individuality and cultural narratives, blending earthy shades with bold contrasts. Materials include hemp, bamboo blends, patchwork, and recycled textiles, with applications spanning layered streetwear, artistic home furnishings, and digitally integrated textile technologies.

Trend-related activities will form a key part of the fair’s fringe programme. Mr Kai Chow will deliver the VIATT Lifestyle Trends Spring/Summer 2027 Seminar, alongside Trend Forum introduction tours on 26 and 27 February in Hall B. The Thai Industrial Hemp Trade Association will also host a seminar focusing on design and trend development using organic raw materials, while Style Republik will lead a panel discussion on emerging Vietnamese fashion trends.

VIATT is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE). The exhibition will be held from 26–28 February 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City.
