VDMA Members Showcase Innovations at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025

ITMA ASIA + CITME, scheduled for late October 2025 in Singapore, will feature robust participation from approximately 70 VDMA member companies. These exhibitors will represent nearly every machinery segment across the textile value chain, including spinning and man-made fibres, nonwovens, weaving, braiding, knitting and warp knitting, finishing and dyeing, as well as technologies for textile recycling and processing of recycled materials. VDMA has organised a dedicated German Pavilion, comprising two group stands—spinning in Hall 4 and finishing in Hall 7—hosting a total of 30 exhibitors.
Dr. Janpeter Horn, Chairman of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association and Managing Director of August Herzog Maschinenfabrik, stated: “The main focus of VDMA members remains on efficiency, automation, digitalisation, and sustainability. Companies continue to develop innovative and eco-friendly solutions that lower production costs while maintaining the high-quality standards of European machinery. This commitment is encapsulated in the slogan ‘Experience Leading Technology.’ Even during challenging economic periods, VDMA members remain reliable partners, providing continuity, trustworthiness, and long-term support.”
Dr. Harald Weber, Managing Director of VDMA Textile Machinery, added: “Our members are excited to return to ITMA ASIA in Singapore after a 20-year hiatus. Singapore’s strategic location and excellent travel connectivity make it an ideal hub for connecting with customers from one of the fastest-growing regions in textile and garment production.”
Asia continues to be the global leader in textile and apparel production and is expected to maintain this status in the foreseeable future. Consequently, it remains the most significant sales market for VDMA member companies, with nearly half of German exports of textile machinery and accessories destined for the region. Additionally, many German textile machinery firms maintain local manufacturing facilities in countries such as China, India, and Vietnam.
Although German textile machinery exports to Asia experienced a sharp decline in 2024, overall exports stabilised in the first half of 2025. Deliveries to markets including China, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan recorded encouraging growth from January to June, suggesting a potential broader recovery in global machinery demand.
