V2 Retail Opens 24 New Stores in August, Crosses 415-Store Mark Nationwide

Expansion across 11 states adds nearly 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space as the company increases its presence in Tier-II, Tier-III and Tier-IV markets

V2 Retail Ltd. opened 24 new stores during August 2026, taking its nationwide store count past the 415-store mark across more than 345 cities. The company said the August expansion represents its strongest single month of store openings to date, following its recent milestone of crossing 400 stores and its Q1 financial performance.

The company has previously opened multiple stores in a single day, including five and six-store launches. In August, V2 Retail extended that pace across the entire month, adding 24 stores to its retail network.

Expansion Reaches 11 States

The newly opened stores are spread across 11 states, with expansion covering both larger cities and smaller markets. In addition to a store in Bangalore, the August launches included locations such as Malkangiri in Odisha and Banka in Bihar.

The 24 stores collectively added nearly 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space to V2 Retail's footprint. The company said each store employs around 40 people, meaning the August expansion has created close to 1,000 direct jobs. This forms part of V2 Retail's broader objective of generating more than 10,000 direct and indirect jobs a year through its store rollout.

V2 Retail also marked the expansion through an AI-generated video series published across its social media handles. The initiative forms part of the company's digital-first brand campaign, “A Bigger V2, Building a Better Bharat.”

Company Targets 170–200 New Stores This Fiscal

Commenting on the August expansion, Ram Chandra Agarwal, Founder, V2 Retail Ltd., said, "We've opened stores fast on a single day before, but doing 24 across a full month, in towns as different as Bangalore and Malkangiri, is a different kind of test. It means every part of the system, from real estate to hiring to stock, is firing together across very different markets. That's the real story here, not just the number. We are building a better Bharat, with a bigger V2."

Akash Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, V2 Retail Ltd., said, "August was about proving we can sustain pace, not just spike it. Following our strong Q1 financial trajectories where revenue surged 58% YoY, we are firmly targeting 170 to 200 new stores this fiscal, largely in Tier-II and Tier-III markets. Crucially, this entire expansion is self-funded through our own internal accruals and cash flows, with no equity dilution. We’re also putting money behind supply chain digitalization to keep up with the pace. Small-town India is where most of this growth is happening."
