V-Bazaar Retail Marks 10 Years with Focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 Markets

V-Bazaar Retail has completed a decade of operations, with most of its growth coming from Tier 2, Tier 3 and emerging markets across India. The company has developed its business model gradually, focusing on value-driven fashion aligned with customer preferences in these regions.

The retailer currently operates in seven states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, covering more than 9.5 lakh sq. ft of retail space. It is also planning to expand into additional regions.

According to the company, consumer purchasing behaviour in smaller markets has played a significant role in shaping its operations. Buying patterns in these areas are largely influenced by festivals, occasions, family requirements and seasonal factors, which have impacted product selection and pricing strategies.

Hemant Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director, V-Bazaar Retail, said the company’s approach has been guided by observing customer behaviour.

“We didn’t build this by following trends from bigger cities. Most of what we understand about the business has come from watching how our customers shop. In smaller towns, purchases are still need-based and tied to occasions. That has guided us from the beginning.”

He added that the company intends to focus on strengthening its presence in existing markets.

“We see more value in understanding our existing markets better. The idea is not to overcomplicate things, but to keep improving based on what customers are already telling us through their behaviour.”

To mark its 10-year milestone, V-Bazaar Retail has launched a Founder’s Day campaign across digital platforms. The campaign uses AI-led creatives and reflects on the brand’s journey and its growth across different markets. The video-based content is currently available on social media platforms, including Instagram.

The company stated that its future plans will continue to focus on expanding within these markets while aligning its approach with consumer behaviour.
