Uster Technologies Named Innovation Sponsor of WTiN Circularity Week 2026

The Swiss textile quality management company will present a session on recycled cotton quality and its role in commercial yarn production during the virtual event from 10–12 November.

World Textile Information Network (WTiN) has named Uster Technologies as Innovation Sponsor of its second annual Textile & Apparel Circularity Week, scheduled to take place virtually from 10 to 12 November 2026.

Uster Technologies, a Swiss provider of textile quality management solutions, supplies instruments, systems and services covering the production chain from fibres to fabrics. Its Uster Statistics are widely used as global benchmarks for textile production and trading. The company marks its 150th anniversary in 2026.

Quality Control in Recycled Fibre Production

As recycled fibres become more widely used in textile manufacturing, spinners and manufacturers require reliable methods to assess and control recycled material quality.

Uster has published practical guidance on mechanically recycled raw materials through its Sustainability Bulletin. The company identifies quality control as an important factor in supporting recycling at industrial scale, and its participation in Circularity Week builds on this work.

Session to Examine Recycled Cotton Quality

Uster will deliver a session titled The Second Life of Cotton — and How Quality Decides Its Future, presented by Christine Woerner, Head of Textile Technology Switzerland at Uster Technologies AG.

The session will examine recycled cotton and the role of quality in determining its suitability for yarn production and the manufacture of finished products.

Woerner has more than 26 years of experience in the textile industry, covering fabric quality management, textile technology and spinning trials. She has led Uster's Textile Technology team in Switzerland for the past three years.

WTiN and Uster Highlight Commercial Requirements

Madelaine Thomas, Managing Director at WTiN, commented:

"Recycled cotton only has a future if its quality is consistent enough to use at commercial scale. Uster has spent 150 years helping the industry measure and manage quality, so we are pleased to welcome them as Innovation Sponsor."

Christine Woerner, Head of Textile Technology Switzerland at Uster Technologies AG, commented:

"Recycled cotton can only compete if manufacturers can rely on its quality. Measuring and managing it is what turns a promising idea into a commercial product and Circularity Week brings together the people who need to have that conversation."

Uster joins Event Partner Interloop and Friends of Conference Ecomondo and ITMA 2027 in supporting the event.

Registration Open for Circularity Week

Textile & Apparel Circularity Week will address the technical, operational and financial challenges involved in scaling circular systems across global supply chains.

Registration is open to industry professionals. Current WTiN members receive full access to the live event, along with post-event intelligence reports.
