Uster FiberQ Supports ORTA’s Recycled Yarn Production in Türkiye

Data-driven raw material management system helps improve blend consistency, reduce waste, and stabilize denim yarn production
Uster Technologies announced that its FiberQ raw material management solution is supporting Turkish denim manufacturer Orta Anadolu Ticaret ve Sanayi İşletmesi T.A.Ş. (ORTA) in improving recycled yarn production efficiency and quality consistency across its spinning operations.
The FiberQ system is part of the Uster 360Q platform, which combines textile testing instruments, software, and process expertise to optimize raw material utilization. According to Uster, the platform enables spinners to monitor warehouse inventories and manage fiber blends through a centralized data system designed to improve process stability and stock transparency.
ORTA, which uses regenerative cotton, organic cotton, recycled fibers, closed-loop manufacturing, and water-reducing technologies in its denim production, adopted FiberQ to support more controlled and data-driven decision-making processes amid challenging market conditions.

Orhan Herdem, Spinning Group Manager at Orta Anadolu Ticaret ve Sanayi İşletmesi T.A.Ş.
“Our company identified the need to focus on data-driven knowledge to take control of its raw material utilization, and make the correct decisions for process efficiency, quality and productivity. The FiberQ system from Uster offers us a comprehensive system for fiber management from the start and throughout the mill processes,” said Orhan Herdem, Spinning Group Manager at ORTA.
The system supports blend preparation and ongoing monitoring of average blend quality values, enabling control over critical parameters throughout production. According to ORTA, this has made production planning and quality management more measurable and predictable.
“FiberQ introduces a significant systematic approach to the cotton blending preparation process and makes a substantial contribution to ensuring quality consistency,” Herdem said.

ORTA reported that variations between consecutive blends are now controlled more effectively, particularly for parameters such as micronaire and color. The company stated that this has reduced the risk of shade variation, or barré, in downstream processes, including sensitive fabric constructions such as gabardine.
The company also noted that integrating the entire cotton inventory into a systematic evaluation process has enabled planned blend transitions within defined quality limits, contributing to more efficient stock utilization and improved process stability.
According to ORTA, FiberQ has also reduced the need for additional trial runs in the warping process by minimizing shade variation issues. The company stated that unnecessary trial processes and waste rates have decreased, while overall production flow has become more stable, contributing to improved efficiency and cost control.

ORTA production facility in Kayseri, Türkiye
ORTA operates 66,000 spindles at its facility in Kayseri, Türkiye, with a daily production capacity of 55,000 kg of yarn.
At the upcoming ITM 2026, Uster will present the Uster 360Q platform and provide information on the FiberQ raw material management system. Visitors will also be able to access the Uster 360Q Platform through interactive touch-screen displays.
The event will take place at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul from June 9 to 13, 2026, where Uster will exhibit in Hall 7, Booth 714B.
