UP Targets ₹5 Lakh Crore Annual Exports by 2030: Piyush Goyal

Centre highlights exports, investment and global market access at Uttar Pradesh event

Uttar Pradesh has set a target of achieving around ₹5 lakh crore in annual exports by 2030, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said while addressing the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Goyal said the state is pursuing higher exports, investment and global market access, with the objective of establishing Uttar Pradesh as a preferred investment destination. He also highlighted the state’s efforts to strengthen infrastructure, tourism and industrial development.

The minister said the state has emerged as a preferred investment destination, supported by favourable industrial policies and proactive measures aimed at attracting investment. These initiatives, he said, are helping create new employment opportunities while encouraging corporations to establish and expand their operations.

Goyal said the state’s next major focus is to expand trade and investment in international markets while strengthening tourism and building global market access.

He noted that Uttar Pradesh is strengthening its foundation for greater export growth through infrastructure development and the progressive movement towards attracting investments. The state is focusing on expanding expressways, modern airports and industrial parks, alongside strengthening digital capacity in sectors including defence, semiconductors, electronics and other high-technology domains.

He pointed to the expansion of the state’s robotics manufacturing facility in Greater Noida as an example of ongoing technological development.

Goyal stated that exports, investments and global market access will contribute to the state’s objective of becoming a $1 trillion economy.

“International events of this scale provide opportunities for direct access to global markets, enabling Uttar Pradesh's diverse products, cuisines and services to reach international markets,” Goyal said.

The minister also highlighted the international participation at the event, including six partner countries, hundreds of delegates and exhibitors, and multiple buyer-seller meetings. He emphasised the combination of modern technology, international enterprises, evolving craftsmanship and the technical skills of the state’s youth as factors supporting development.

Goyal said the state’s expanding access to global markets through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), investment, tourism promotion of Uttar Pradesh’s products and brands would create new opportunities for entrepreneurs.

He called for greater participation and cooperation from the trade and industry community, stressing the need for coordination between the central and state governments to sustain the state’s export and economic growth trajectory.
