Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh officially launched Bharat Tex 2026, a global textile event aimed at bringing together the entire textile value chain. The event is scheduled to take place from 14–17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Organisers expect participation from thousands of exhibitors, international buyers, and trade visitors from across the world.

Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh unveiled Bharat Tex 2026, describing it as India’s flagship global textile event that will bring together stakeholders from across the textile value chain. The announcement was made in the presence of representatives from industry, government, and trade bodies.

The Minister stated that Bharat Tex is envisioned as a global platform connecting segments ranging from fibre and yarn to fabrics, garments, technical textiles, and sustainability-focused innovations. He acknowledged the efforts of textile Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and industry organisations involved in bringing the value chain together under the Bharat Tex initiative. He also noted that the event reflects India’s focus on innovation, collaboration, and the “5F vision” of the Prime Minister.

Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, Neelam Shami Rao, and Additional Secretary Rohit Kansal were present during the launch ceremony along with senior representatives from Export Promotion Councils and industry leaders.

Bharat Tex 2026 is scheduled to be held from 14–17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event is expected to include more than 3,500 business exhibitors, over 7,000 international buyers from more than 140 countries, and more than 1,30,000 trade visitors.

The exhibition will feature multiple segments of the textile ecosystem including fibres and yarns, fabrics, apparel and fashion, home textiles, technical textiles, handicrafts, handlooms, and manufacturing technologies. Organisers stated that the event will present India’s capabilities in manufacturing, design, technology, and trade.

Bharat Tex 2026 builds on earlier editions held in 2024 and 2025. The upcoming edition will include exhibitions, knowledge sessions, reverse buyer-seller meetings, and policy discussions intended to address issues related to trade and industry development. Focus areas include sustainable and circular textiles, technical textiles, MSME integration, innovation, and global market access.

The event will also provide participation opportunities for Indian MSMEs, exhibitors, start-ups, academic institutions, and designers to present textile innovations, connect with global manufacturers and buyers, and engage in discussions. Government policy initiatives and reforms related to investment, trade promotion, and support for the handloom sector will also be presented during the event.

A key component of the programme will be the Global Textile Dialogue, which will host a series of sessions involving policymakers, industry representatives, and experts. The discussions are expected to address topics including global trade trends, sustainability and ESG standards, Industry 5.0, technical textiles, and supply chain resilience.

Bharat Tex 2026 will be organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, an umbrella body representing 11 textile-related Export Promotion Councils and industry associations. During the launch event, Naren Goenka, Chairman of the federation, and Bhadresh Dodia, Co-Chairman of the federation, spoke about the activities planned for the exhibition.

Further details about the event are available on the official website of Bharat Tex.
