The semiconductor and electronics components manufacturing sector has welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, particularly the government’s continued focus on expanding the Semiconductor Mission and strengthening domestic electronics manufacturing. Industry leaders see these measures as critical to building scale, improving quality, and enhancing localisation across India’s electronics supply chains.

Jasraaj S Kalra, Managing Director, Noble Group said

“The expansion of the Semiconductor Mission and the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme is an important step towards strengthening India’s component manufacturing ecosystem. The immediate impact will be seen in building foundational capabilities across electronics supply chains, with a clear emphasis on scale, quality, and localisation. By encouraging domestic production of critical components, the policy lays the groundwork for greater self-reliance and reduced dependence on imports over time, supporting a more resilient and globally competitive electronics manufacturing landscape.”
