Trützschler Unveils T-CAN: Smart Automation for Sliver Can Transport at ITMA ASIA 2025

In most spinning mills, the transportation of sliver cans is still carried out manually. Rising labor costs, shortage of skilled operators, and higher quality expectations have made this process increasingly challenging. To address this, Trützschler has launched T-CAN, a fully automated can transport system that will make its live debut at ITMA ASIA 2025 in Singapore.
Efficient and reliable automation
T-CAN automates the movement of sliver cans between cards, breaker draw frames, and finisher draw frames with speed and precision. It integrates automated guided vehicles (AGVs) with a smart software interface that tracks each can’s movement, ensuring it is placed exactly where it needs to be.

What T-CAN delivers
By minimizing manual handling and enabling continuous production — even during lunch breaks and night shifts — T-CAN ensures consistent material flow and quality. The system helps mills achieve lower labor costs, higher machine efficiency, and better sliver quality, while adapting flexibly to different mill layouts.
Alexander Stampfer, CSO of Trützschler Group, explained:
“With T-CAN, we’re responding to our customers’ needs for intelligent automation. Our goal was to create a solution that not only reduces operational costs but also enhances quality and consistency in sliver handling. It’s a leap forward in making spinning mills smarter.”
Simple to use
Despite its sophisticated automation, T-CAN is designed for ease of operation. Its intuitive software interface requires only a few minutes of training and no prior robotics experience.
Scalable and future-ready
Ideal for medium to large spinning mills with high output goals, T-CAN’s modular design also makes it a strategic investment for smaller mills seeking to future-proof their production. The system is scalable, growing easily with the user’s operational needs.

Proven performance
A major early adopter, JINGYI Group from Sheyang, China, successfully piloted T-CAN and has since expanded automation across over 120 TC 26i cards and 240 draw frames.
Mr. Peng Fujian, Deputy General Manager, JINGYI Group, said:
“We were impressed by the performance and reliability of T-CAN during the pilot phase. It has significantly improved our efficiency and reduced our staffing needs. That’s why we decided to implement it across our entire carding and draw frame section.”
Experience it live
Visitors to the Trützschler booth at ITMA ASIA 2025 in Singapore can see T-CAN in live action, interact with experts, and explore how it can transform their mill operations.
