Trident Group Marks International Yoga Day with Wellness Sessions Across Manufacturing Units

More than 1,000 employees, family members and local residents participate in Yoga Day activities across Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Ludhiana.

Trident Group celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day by conducting wellness programmes across its manufacturing facilities at Sanghera and Dhaula in Punjab, Budhni in Madhya Pradesh, and its corporate office in Ludhiana.

More than 1,000 employees, family members and residents from neighbouring villages participated in the initiative, which focused on encouraging healthy lifestyles and overall well-being.

Certified instructors led yoga and meditation sessions at all locations, guiding participants through yoga asanas, breathing exercises and meditation techniques aimed at improving flexibility, concentration and physical fitness. The programme also highlighted the importance of healthy daily habits, mindfulness and regular physical activity.

Inspired by Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi Ji's message of "Yoga for Humanity 2.0", the event emphasised the role of yoga in supporting physical health, mental well-being and social harmony. According to the company, participation from nearby communities reflected its focus on promoting wellness beyond the workplace.

Speaking on the occasion, Trident Group Chairman Emeritus and Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta said:

“Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a complete way to make life balanced, meaningful and purposeful. He said that in today's fast-paced life, people often leave behind health and mental balance in the pursuit of success. Indian culture has always taught that success and happiness are complementary, not contradictory.”

Explaining the meaning of yoga, he added:

“The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word "yuj", which means "to join" or "to unite". Yoga establishes harmony between the body, mind, intellect and spirit. In ancient India, yoga was not limited to asanas; it was a way of life that nurtured values such as discipline, patience, concentration, service and balance.”

Rajinder Gupta also noted that increasing levels of stress, anxiety and mental fatigue have made yoga increasingly relevant in modern life. He said yoga supports physical health while contributing to mental clarity, emotional stability and spiritual balance.

Referring to young people, he stated that although today's youth have access to more opportunities than ever before, they also face significant pressure to succeed. He said yoga offers direction, confidence and strength to maintain balance in life.

He further said that while technology and opportunities will continue to evolve, maintaining balance, concentration and a connection with values will remain important, encouraging people to make yoga a regular part of their daily lives.

Alongside the Yoga Day activities, Trident Group highlighted its ongoing employee wellness initiatives, including awareness programmes focused on posture correction, eye relaxation exercises, desk-based stretching and workplace wellness breaks. According to the company, these efforts support preventive healthcare, healthy ageing and a positive work environment.

The programme concluded with refreshments for all participants.
