Trident Group Expands Parali Samadhan to Curb Stubble Burning

Strengthening Rural Sustainability Through Climate-Responsible Farming
Trident Group advances its environmental mission with the Parali Samadhan initiative, helping farmers manage stubble sustainably across 2,000 acres in Punjab.
Reaffirming its long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and rural empowerment, the Trident Group—India’s globally recognized textile powerhouse—continues to spearhead efforts to curb stubble burning through its dedicated CSR program, Parali Samadhan. This initiative provides farmers with free access to specialized equipment, expert technical assistance, and hands-on operational support to manage paddy stubble responsibly across nearly 2,000 acres in villages located in and around Barnala, Punjab.

The program, run by the Trident Foundation, focuses on addressing one of North India’s most persistent ecological concerns—open-field crop residue burning—by promoting scientific methods of stubble processing and encouraging sustainable residue-management practices.
Over the years, Parali Samadhan has played a pivotal role in reducing seasonal air pollution, smog, and related public health challenges by building awareness among farmers about the environmental and long-term soil benefits of eliminating stubble burning. The initiative contributes directly to national efforts to eradicate stubble burning and supports India’s progress toward global climate goals across multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Climate Action (SDG 13), and Life on Land (SDG 15).
The region where the initiative is active has already witnessed a measurable drop in stubble burning cases in recent years—a positive outcome driven by strong community participation, supportive government policies, and sustained corporate engagement.
More than a traditional CSR effort, Parali Samadhan represents a collaborative movement with farmers aimed at cleaner air, healthier ecosystems, and more resilient livelihoods. The initiative not only encourages rural communities to adopt climate-friendly agricultural practices but also inspires a transition from pollution-generating habits to purpose-driven innovation, effectively transforming crop stubble into a sustainable resource. Alongside environmental progress, the Trident Foundation continues to uplift communities through programs in education, healthcare, skill development, and social welfare across Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
