The TVC Media Team had the privilege to speak with Mr Madhusudan, Founder of Vidhaan Textiles Private Limited, a pioneering technology-led B2B fabric sourcing platform that is revolutionising the global textile industry. Vidhaan Textiles brings together humans, intelligent algorithms, and smart machines to transform traditional fabric sourcing into a faster, more transparent, and data-driven process. With access to over 45,000 live fabrics and a trusted network of 100+ verified mills, the platform enables brands, buyers, and manufacturers to move from idea to execution with unprecedented speed and confidence. In this insightful conversation, he shares his journey, the challenges of digitising a traditionally relationship-driven industry, and his vision for creating a connected textile future.
Please introduce yourself and Vidhaan Textiles.
I am a Textile Engineer by qualification, complemented by a commercial management education (MBA), with over 20 years of experience in fabric sourcing. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with mills, exporters, and global buyers, gaining deep insight into the operational and commercial challenges of the industry. I observed that fabric sourcing continued to remain fragmented, manual, and time-intensive.
This understanding led to the creation of Vidhaan Textiles — a digital sourcing platform that brings together the innovation and production strengths of multiple mills into one integrated ecosystem. Today, the platform offers 45,000+ live fabrics and connects buyers directly with partner mills through real-time data, enabling faster, more transparent, and efficient sourcing.

What inspired you to start Vidhaan Textiles?
The key challenge in textile sourcing has always been inefficiency — repeated communications, delayed costing, limited real-time visibility, and heavy dependence on individual mills.
buyers often lacked critical technical information, such as count, construction, composition, MOQs, FDS, and sustainability options.
Vidhaan was created to address these gaps by making fabrics searchable, comparable, and instantly accessible. The platform is designed to reduce sourcing time, improve transparency, and give buyers faster access to a wider range of innovations.

How is Vidhaan different from traditional sourcing platforms or individual mills?
Traditional sourcing relies on individual relationships and access to a limited number of mills. Vidhaan transforms this model by bringing the innovation and production of multiple mills onto a single digital platform.
Instead of depending on one supplier, buyers gain access to thousands of fabrics, live availability, and instant technical specifications. This enables faster decision-making, greater transparency, and significantly reduces sourcing risk.
How is technology transforming fabric sourcing today?
Technology is bringing speed, transparency, and intelligence into textile sourcing. Buyers today want real-time information — whether it is stock, pricing, or sustainability data.
At Vidhaan, we use digital fabric libraries, live data integration, and AI-driven insights to help buyers select fabrics faster and more accurately. This shift is moving sourcing from relationship-based to data-driven.”
Sustainability is a major focus globally. How is Vidhaan contributing?
Sustainability requires visibility and traceability across the supply chain. Vidhaan supports certified sustainable fabrics from partner mills and ensures buyers can easily access certification and compliance data.
We also help mills promote eco-friendly developments and make sustainable sourcing easier for buyers. Technology helps bridge the gap between sustainable production and market accessibility.

How does Vidhaan support MSMEs and smaller mills?
One of our strongest mission is MSME empowerment. Many smaller mills have excellent innovation and manufacturing capability, but limited global visibility.
Vidhaan provides them a digital showroom, real-time buyer access, and market insights. This reduces their sales cost and opens global sourcing opportunities without heavy marketing investment
Where did you first introduce this platform? Which regions and mills did you approach first?
I started by joining hands with MSMEs and small-scale setups because big mills already have large teams, but small mills make very beautiful fabrics yet lack global visibility. I first approached small mills and, in parallel, small customers who don't have senior fabric sourcing teams.
In South India, we partnered with several mills and integrated their products into our platform. Despite current challenges in US exports, these mills are receiving strong business through our system and are highly satisfied.
What challenges did you face while building this platform?
The biggest challenge was bringing traditional textile processes into a digital ecosystem. The industry is relationship-driven, so building trust and adoption required time.
Another challenge was structuring technical fabric data into a standardised digital format. But once mills and buyers saw the efficiency improvement, adoption became much easier.
How did mills initially react to your platform? Did they face difficulties adapting?
Initially, when I approached mills in 2024, they were both excited and scared that their products would be visible to competitors. They weren't ready to reveal their informations
Initially, we conducted our own product analysis by physically verifying key fabric parameters such as count, construction, and composition, as accurate details were not readily available from the mills. Each fabric was then mapped into our technology with precise specifications and connected to our algorithm. This enables highly accurate price tracking and quick adjustments whenever market conditions change.
Once mills realised that our system improves visibility, enhances price precision, and significantly reduces their selling costs, they became more open to sharing their production data. As a result, their sales expenses have reduced drastically.
Today, especially small and mid-sized mills are actively joining our platform, recognising the efficiency, transparency, and business growth it delivers.

How do you see the future of textile sourcing evolving?
The future will be highly digital, data-driven, and collaborative. Buyers will expect instant access to fabrics, technical specifications, sustainability compliance, and trend insights.
Platforms like Vidhaan will act as integrated ecosystems connecting mills, brands, and designers seamlessly. Speed and innovation will become key competitive advantages.
Are there other players in India offering similar technology?
As of now, we believe we are the first to offer a live fabric sourcing platform with a network of 100+ verified mills
Our USP is not just bringing products onto one platform — it is making every fabric live and intelligent. Each fabric is mapped into our technology through 52 detailed parameters, enabling our algorithm to deliver highly precise search results and accurate price movements when market conditions fluctuate.
We have connected all mill products to live market intelligence — all fabrics dependent on those inputs are automatically adjusted in real time.
Building this intelligence-driven algorithm took more than four years. Our technology has been developed by a highly capable team, including global design experts and IIT engineers, who transformed our industry vision into a powerful digital platform.
Who were your first clients, and who do you want as future clients?
Our early clients include buying houses and exporters such as Hela Clothing, Paramount Products, and others. After using our platform, they realised it is really very user-friendly. Soon, I want bigger buyers like Zara and H&M — big brands that source from India — to use our platform.
What role does India play in the global textile sourcing landscape?
India has one of the strongest textile ecosystems globally, with deep capabilities in innovation, fibre diversity, and manufacturing flexibility.
With digital integration and technology adoption, India can further strengthen its position as a global sourcing hub. Platforms that connect this ecosystem digitally will play a major role in achieving that vision.

What is your long-term vision for Vidhaan Textiles?
Our vision is to digitally connect the entire textile value chain and make sourcing smarter, faster, and more transparent.
We aim to create a platform where buyers can discover fabrics, analyse trends, and connect directly with mills in real time — ultimately positioning Vidhaan as a global textile sourcing intelligence ecosystem.
Who else forms the pillar of your company besides you?
Our strength lies in a strong team of industry experts, global designers, and technology specialists. Several experienced textile professionals and industry veterans are associated with us, bringing deep domain knowledge and practical insight.
On the technology side, a team of IIT engineers has transformed my ideas into a robust digital platform. While fabric sourcing has traditionally been a conventional and manual process, our team successfully converted industry innovation into scalable technology — something many believed was not possible.
In addition, our globally experienced design team brings international trends and innovation into the system, enabling better sourcing solutions for small and mid-sized exporters and designers who often face challenges in accessing the right fabrics.
What are you still learning, and what would you advise the industry?
The key learning is that the future of textiles lies in technology adoption. As other industries leverage AI and data to make faster, smarter decisions, the textile sector cannot afford to lag behind.
My advice to the industry is clear — embrace technology proactively. Digital and AI-driven systems enable faster decision-making, improve efficiency, and create a more sustainable and transparent sourcing ecosystem.
Those who adopt technology will stay competitive; those who don’t risk being left behind.
