Tonello Introduces ‘Denim Illusion’ Collection with Advanced Finishing Technologies

Collection explores non-denim materials engineered to replicate denim aesthetics through dyeing and finishing innovations

The “Denim Illusion” collection by Tonello presents garments designed to resemble denim in appearance and texture, while being made from alternative materials. The collection explores the replication of worn surfaces, faded shades, creases, abrasions, and breakage effects typically associated with denim.

The development of the collection is centered on dyeing and finishing processes. Using DyeMate technology, garments are dyed with indigo through a controlled, low-temperature process, creating a uniform base layer that responds to further treatments.

In addition to indigo-dyed garments, the collection includes ready-to-dye pieces processed using Sulfur Essence. This method combines sulfur dyes and indigo to replicate the visual effects of discharged and overdyed denim.

Surface finishing plays a key role in achieving the final appearance. THE Laser 2.0 technology is used to create effects such as scraping, wear patterns, whiskers, and folds. These processes are combined with ozone-based treatments to enhance the finish.

The OBleach process is applied to achieve bleach-like effects without the use of hazardous chemicals. Static ozone treatment, carried out using the O-Zone cabinet, is used to produce localized fading, sunfading, and gradual tonal transitions.

Part of the collection also incorporates Core technology, Tonello’s nebulization system, which enables dyeing processes with a low liquor ratio and supports the development of varied color tones.

The resulting garments are designed to visually replicate denim characteristics through a combination of dyeing techniques, surface treatments, and finishing technologies.
