Togo's cotton output is anticipated to rebound to pre-pandemic levels in the next season, after falling 43 percent last year owing to bad weather and falling prices, according to the country's largest cotton firm. Togo's cotton production in 2020 was 66,000 tonnes, down 43% from the previous season. “Overall, the outcomes at the national level have been disappointing.” During a news conference on Tuesday, Martin Drevon, deputy director of the New Cotton Company of Togo (NSCT), remarked.

According to him, the pandemic's fast decrease was caused by a combination of falling costs, low seed quality, and terrible weather.
