They need to work on that to improve their business, although the short term future projections are bleak, the management anticipates the investments in solar to enhance cost savings and hopes that things would be relieved in the next cotton season beginning in October.

It indicates companies have an opportunity to improve their business in future.  The company also expanded their business in solar energy through wind mills which now reduce their business operating expenses.
