Tiruppur Exporters Demand New TUF Scheme To Be Implemented Retrospectively From April 2022

Tiruppur Exporters' Association has urged the Centre to create a new Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme that would extend the interest benefit to exporting units retroactively from April 1, 2022. The Tiruppur knitwear cluster has benefited from the TUF scheme, with 90% of MSMEs and stand-alone units performing job work for garment-exporting units.It is worth noting that, per a Jawaharlal Nehru Customs House (JNCH) order dated February 8, 2023, exporters importing raw materials or machines packed or wrapped in plastic bags or sheets must apply under Extended Producer Responsibilities (EPR), even if the materials are non-plastic.
