Centre of Excellence: Agrotextiles

Location: Worli, Mumbai.

The Centre of Excellence for Agrotextiles (COE- Agrotech) has been assigned to The Synthetic and Art Silk Mills’ Research Association (SASMIRA) as the lead agency jointly with other Agencies viz., The Man-made Textiles Research Association (MANTRA), Surat Navsari Agriculture University (NAU), Navsari as associate partner and Dept. of Textile Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi as knowledge partner. The establishment and functioning of this centre has been initiated the year 2008 with the Office of the Textile Commissioner. The major activities under COE-Agrotech are Setting up of a Demonstration Pilot Plant, creation of testing and accreditation of laboratory, setting up of information centre and training centre.
