Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris Highlights Shift Towards More Diversified and Agile Sourcing

59th edition reflects changing buyer priorities, with greater emphasis on flexibility, alternative sourcing markets, finished products and innovation

The 59th edition of Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, held from 31 August to 2 September 2026 at the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Centre, highlighted changes in global sourcing strategies amid a challenging political and economic environment.

With 1,054 exhibitors, including 146 first-time participants, the exhibition showcased a sourcing landscape increasingly focused on partner quality, flexibility, responsiveness and diversification.

Sourcing Landscape Expands Beyond Traditional Production Hubs

Major production centres including China, India, Türkiye, South Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh and Pakistan remained strongly represented at the exhibition. At the same time, the event featured suppliers from a wider range of emerging and nearby sourcing markets.

A total of 35 countries were represented, including Bulgaria, Armenia, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Myanmar and Ghana.

For some buyers, diversification is increasingly linked to both competitiveness and supply security. Longer transportation times and disruptions to maritime routes are contributing to interest in alternative production locations, particularly in West Africa.

Andreas Eickelmann of SVAN International Import-Export, who sources finished denim collections from Bangladesh, Vietnam and Pakistan, has been exploring African alternatives for several years to reduce transport costs. Ghana is among the options being considered as part of a broader diversification strategy.

Exhibitors Respond to International Market Requirements

French company Chargeurs PCC, participating in Texworld for the first time, used the exhibition to demonstrate its ability to respond to international market requirements.

Nadège Lemoine, Director of Innovation and Marketing at Chargeurs PCC, said:

“Our presence at Texworld was first aimed at visibility and promoting French expertise. We also wanted to show our ability to support our customers internationally, thanks to our locations in Europe of course, but also in Asia and South America.”

The exhibition also highlighted developments in India-Europe textile trade. During her visit to the event, Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary of the Indian Ministry of Textiles, discussed the potential impact of the customs advantage planned under the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement, which is currently being ratified.

She noted that Indian companies would need to better address European market expectations in areas such as design and product development.

The Top 5 visitor countries at this edition were France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Germany, with visitors remaining concentrated in major European Union markets.

Texworld and Apparel Sourcing Achieve Greater Balance

For the first time, Texworld and Apparel Sourcing presented a more balanced combination of materials and fabrics alongside finished products.

This development reflects changing purchasing practices, including smaller or divided orders for raw materials and increased purchasing of finished products. Finished products can help buyers complete collections, introduce new references quickly or develop private-label ranges without bringing the complete design and production process in-house.

The new Outdoor sector, positioned between Texworld and Apparel Sourcing, brought together around 50 exhibitors offering technical fabrics and sportswear manufacturing.

Julien Schmoll, Director of Marketing and Communications at Messe Frankfurt France, said:

“A way of adapting to the demand of brands and taking note of the growing permeability between the world of Outdoor, with its codes of technicality and performance and that of fashion.”

A Jewellery & Leather area also added companies specialising in jewellery and leather accessories.

Frédéric Bougeard, President of Messe Frankfurt France, said:

“In a market that is tightening, our response is not to offer more, but to offer better and differently. Diversifying countries, bringing sources closer, integrating and highlighting new product worlds: the evolution of Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris accompanies the new strategies of buyers and helps them build more agile supply chains at the best cost.”

Avantex Brings Innovation and Circularity to the Exhibition

The Avantex sector added an innovation-focused dimension to the event, bringing together around 30 exhibitors, particularly from France and the United Kingdom.

The offering included:

  • Eco-responsible materials, including hemp faux fur from Peltex
  • Circular and anti-waste solutions from LeLabPlus, ZERØTEC, CircKit and Plateforme Seconde Matière
  • Value-chain optimisation and traceability solutions from Makea, Seamless Source and C.L.A. Fashion Integration Technology
  • New materials and experimental processes developed by designers

The conference programme covered developments including changing workplace expectations, artificial intelligence, sustainable transition, regenerative models, sportswear performance and sustainability, and the future of textile expertise.

AI and Circularity Feature in Conference Programme

The Texpertise Focus AI x SPOTT examined practical applications of artificial intelligence across the textile value chain, including textile inspection and process optimisation.

The Threading Circularity forum, organised with the Circular Fashion Federation and TCBL, focused on repair ecosystems, extending product lifespans, micro-factories and the transformation of European value chains.
