Textiles Committee Conducts Export Awareness Programme on FTAs and Government Schemes in Jaipur

Nearly 100 representatives from textile, garment, handloom and handicraft sectors participated in the TEFC initiative on 25 June 2026.
The Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC), under the Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, organised an awareness programme on "Maximize the Export Through FTAs and Govt. Schemes" at Hotel Marigold, Sitapura Industrial Area, Jaipur, on 25.06.2026.
The programme was attended by Shri Kartikay Dhanda, Hon’ble Secretary, Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. Shri Dinesh Gupta, President of AGES, Shri Siddharth Gadhaiya, General Secretary, AGES, and Shri Rajeev Diwan, Mentor of AGES, attended as Guests of Honour. Representatives from the Office of Commissioner Industry and Commerce, MSME-DFO, exporters, industry associations and stakeholders from the garments, handloom and handicraft sectors also participated.

Shri Govind Prasad, Deputy Director & Officer In-Charge, Regional Office of the Textiles Committee, Jaipur, welcomed the dignitaries, speakers and participants and outlined the objective of the awareness programme.
Delivering the keynote address, Shri Kartikay Dhanda, Secretary, Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, highlighted the objectives of the Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC). He emphasized the importance of enhancing textile exports through the effective utilization of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), export facilitation services, and various Government support mechanisms. He further highlighted Rajasthan's immense potential in the textile and apparel sector and encouraged manufacturers and exporters to make effective use of the opportunities available under FTAs and various Central and State Government schemes. He urged the industry to focus on quality, innovation, value addition, sustainability, and global competitiveness to enhance exports and strengthen the State's contribution to India's textile export growth.

Shri J. Parameswaran, Deputy Director (EP&QA), Textiles Committee, Mumbai, delivered a presentation on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), covering India's major FTAs, preferential tariff benefits and practical strategies for increasing exports to FTA partner countries.
Shri Pankaj Rao, Assistant Commissioner, Office of Commissioner, Industry and Commerce, presented information on Rajasthan Government export promotion initiatives and government schemes, including assistance for participation in international trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, market intelligence, branding support and guidance for exporters seeking to expand into global markets.
Shri Tarun Bhatnagar, Assistant Director, MSME, explained various schemes of the Ministry of MSME, including the benefits of Udyam Registration, collateral-free credit support, technology upgradation, entrepreneurship promotion, financial assistance, subsidies, support services for MSMEs and textile enterprises, and other measures aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and growth of textile MSMEs.
The programme was attended by nearly 100 representatives from textile manufacturing units, exporters, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, industry associations and other stakeholders from across Rajasthan.
The awareness programme was organised by the Regional Office of the Textiles Committee, Jaipur, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Vijay Babu Gaur, Quality Assurance Officer, Textiles Committee, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, distinguished speakers, participating departments and delegates.
