Textile PLI Scheme Approves 22 More Companies in Third Round

The Government has cleared 22 new applications under Round-3 of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the textile sector.

With these approvals, the total number of companies selected under the scheme has increased to 96. The Ministry of Textiles stated that the newly approved firms are projected to invest ₹2,339 crore and generate a combined turnover exceeding ₹15,561 crore in notified products. The approvals are also expected to create 36,217 jobs across the textile value chain.

Overall, the 96 approved companies under Round-3 have committed a total investment of ₹12,822.67 crore and are projected to generate a turnover of ₹58,294.18 crore.

The newly approved applicants are focused on key segments covered under the PLI Scheme, including Man-Made Fibre (MMF) Apparel, MMF Fabrics and Technical Textiles.

The Ministry of Textiles said these approvals are intended to strengthen India's manufacturing presence in value-added textile products.

The PLI Scheme for textiles was notified in September 2021 to promote the production of MMF apparel and fabrics and technical textile products. The scheme aims to support competitiveness in the textile industry and create employment opportunities.
