A remarkable digital exhibition retracing the rich history of the Italian textile machinery industry—The Heritage—has been launched by ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) and the Italian Trade Agency, with financial support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
This virtual platform extends the legacy of the exhibition showcased at ITMA 2023 Milan, the world’s premier trade fair for textile machinery. Originally a captivating photographic journey, highly praised by both national and international visitors, The Heritage has now evolved into an immersive digital experience, offering a deeper exploration of Italy’s textile machinery innovations over the past century.
With contributions from numerous textile machinery companies, The Heritage presents over 100 years of Italian textile manufacturing excellence through a compelling gallery of images. The website features dedicated sections, including:
- Machineries – Showcasing iconic textile machinery models.
- Entrepreneurs – Honoring industry pioneers and visionaries.
- Factories – Featuring vintage images of production plants.
- World & Companies – Highlighting global trade fairs and sector events.
- Exhibitions & ACIMIT – Offering insights into industry evolution and ACIMIT’s contributions.
Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, emphasized the significance of this initiative:
“The Heritage is a tribute to the history, values, and technological advancements of the Italian textile machinery industry. This evocative and engaging journey showcases how Italian manufacturing has evolved over time, reinforcing its global leadership in the sector. With nearly 300 companies driving continuous innovation, Italy’s expertise remains a cornerstone of the industry’s future.”
More than just a historical archive, The Heritage is a living platform, continually enriched with new contributions from industry players. It stands as a collective digital space, celebrating the past, present, and future of Italian textile machinery.
