National Institute of Fashion Technology, Daman Campus students, under the guidance of Course Coordinator Dr. Lata Samant, successfully completed a project as part of their Weave Design and CAD course. Aishwarya Srinivas and Payal Singh developed textile designs for shirts and dresses inspired by current trends. Using Point Carre textile software, they created intricate designs featuring color and weave, dobby, checks, and stripes. The designs were initially developed in CAD and then brought to life as physical swatches on a tabletop loom. The students' color palette, which included pink, green, purple, and wine hues, was informed by trend forecasting. The resulting designs are suitable for everyday wear and demonstrate potential for industry application. This academic project showcases the students' skills in creating practical and trendy designs, underscoring the value of NIFT's Weave Design and CAD course in fostering industry-ready talent.
