Textilcord Starts Manufacturing of Surgical Masks in Luxembourg

Textilcord, based in Steinfort, Luxembourg, has invested in a surgical mask production line capable of producing 20 million pieces per year. Textilcord, an Indorama Ventures firm, helps to alleviate shortages during the Covid-19 issue by shifting the production of these vital protective masks. The business intends to create revolutionary masks that may immediately destroy viruses on them using a new technology developed in Luxembourg.

Textilcord Steinfort is a French business that specialises in the production of dipped textiles used to strengthen tyres. In June 2020, this IVL firm contemplated creating surgical masks in response to the demands generated by the health crisis. However, it opted not to relocate its manufacturing to Europe due to the need to minimise reliance on foreign sources of supplies.
