As part of its mission to accelerate textile circularity, the EU-funded tExtended project will participate in the upcoming 3rd ECOSYSTEX Conference, taking place from September 29 to October 1 at the Jacy’z Hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden.

During the event, tExtended will lead a workshop titled “Building a Collaborative Circular Textile System”, inviting external attendees to actively engage with the project’s findings on system dynamics, circular transition barriers, and logistics-based value chain models. The interactive session will help the consortium validate its current assumptions and expand its outlook on policy challenges, circular strategies, and sustainable system design.

The workshop will be facilitated by experts from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, and Tekologistik.

“Over the past two and a half years, tExtended has developed significant technological and digital innovations for managing textile waste. However, validating these efforts through collaborative feedback is crucial,” explained Dr. Pirjo Heikkilä, Project Coordinator from VTT. “This workshop at ECOSYSTEX is essential to ensuring we are progressing in the right direction.”

Additionally, tExtended will showcase a textile sample exhibition featuring outcomes from various project partners. The display will include prototypes from innovative recycling methods and finished garments, underscoring the cross-collaborative efforts behind the project’s success.

The ECOSYSTEX Conference, hosted by the European Community of Practice for a Sustainable Textile Ecosystem, was founded in 2023 to foster collaboration in the textile sustainability landscape. The 2025 edition will emphasize new technologies and business models for textile circularity.
