TEXPROCIL Launches India’s AI-Powered Textile Trust Stack – Phase 2

Initiative to Scale Digital Product Passports, Traceability and Sustainability Across India’s Textile Value Chain

A significant milestone for the Indian textile industry was achieved with the launch of India’s AI-Powered Textile Trust Stack – Phase 2 by Smt. Vrunda Manohar Desai (IRS), Textile Commissioner, in collaboration with TEXPROCIL, RePut.ai and Control Union, under the Ministry of Textiles’ TEX-RAMPS Initiative.

The initiative aims to establish a robust digital infrastructure that enables textile exporters to demonstrate traceability, sustainability and compliance through verified Digital Product Passports (DPPs), thereby strengthening India’s position in global textile markets.

Welcoming the distinguished guests and industry participants, Shri Vijay Agarwal, Chairman, TEXPROCIL, highlighted the importance of embracing technology, enhancing transparency and building greater trust across global textile supply chains. He emphasized that digital transformation and credible sustainability data will be critical drivers of future export competitiveness.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Smt. Vrunda Manohar Desai (IRS), Textile Commissioner, underscored the importance of strengthening digital traceability, sustainability and data-driven systems across the textile value chain. She noted that such initiatives would support Indian exporters in meeting evolving global regulatory requirements and buyer expectations while reinforcing India's reputation as a reliable sourcing destination.

Dr. Siddhartha Rajagopal, Executive Director, TEXPROCIL, presented an overview of the AI-Powered Textile Trust Stack and explained how the platform will enable exporters and textile units to generate credible, verifiable sustainability information and respond effectively to emerging global compliance requirements.

Powered by RePut.ai and supported by Control Union, the platform combines Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technology and independent verification systems to transform supply-chain information into trusted and auditable digital records.

Key Highlights of the Initiative

• AI-powered verification of sustainability and supply-chain data
• Blockchain-enabled trust, transparency and data integrity
• Mapping of 42 critical traceability, sustainability and compliance data points for every product/SKU
• Successful completion of Phase 1 pilot with 7 brands onboarded and 13 verified Digital Product Passports generated
• Phase 2 target of onboarding 300 organisations and creating 3,000+ verified Digital Product Passports within six months

The initiative is designed to simplify sustainability reporting and compliance documentation while helping exporters strengthen buyer confidence, improve market access and prepare for emerging international regulations related to supply-chain transparency and sustainability disclosures.

Particular emphasis will be placed on onboarding MSMEs and suppliers across all tiers of the textile value chain, ensuring that businesses of every scale can participate in the growing global demand for transparent and responsible sourcing.

The programme reflects a shared vision of transforming the industry:

Over the next six months, TEXPROCIL, RePut.ai and Control Union will work closely with industry stakeholders to onboard 300 organisations and generate more than 3,000 verified Digital Product Passports, creating one of the largest trusted digital ecosystems for textiles globally.
