TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 Expands Globally, Volume 2 to Debut at Kingpins Amsterdam

Lenzing adds 20 new mill partners as Volume 2 collection debuts and retail rollout begins

Lenzing has announced the expansion of its TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 programme, with participation increasing significantly within six months of its debut at Kingpins Amsterdam in October. The initial launch featured 17 mill partners across five countries, and the network has since expanded to include 20 additional mills from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Mexico, Pakistan, Türkiye and Vietnam.

With this addition, the programme now spans nine countries across four continents. The combined network of Volume 1 and Volume 2 partners extends sourcing capabilities into key textile manufacturing regions where global brands are actively procuring materials.

The initial development of TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 fabrics was led by four partners: Advance Denim (China), AGI Denim (Pakistan), Orta (Türkiye) and Textil Santanderina (Spain). These were supported by 13 additional mills contributing to the first collection. Following the debut, further interest from mills and brands led to expanded participation in Volume 2.

The first denim products using TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 reached retail in March 2026, less than six months after the fibre’s introduction and prior to the official presentation of Volume 2. According to the company, additional mills are already preparing for Volume 3, which is scheduled to be presented at the October 2026 Kingpins event.

TENCEL™ Lyocell has been used in denim production for more than three decades, primarily in weft yarns. The new HV100 variant introduces changes through Lenzing’s Variocut technology, which incorporates controlled variation in staple lengths ranging from 10–28 mm. This approach is intended to replicate the characteristics of cotton fibres and support warp applications, which influence the visual appearance of denim fabrics.

The fibre is designed to deliver a matte finish, indigo wash-down performance, and maintain the softness associated with TENCEL™ fibres. It is positioned to address limitations of standard lyocell, which has historically been less suitable for warp usage due to its uniform structure and drape.

“MMCF fabrics have historically been limited in replicating the way denim incorporates cotton’s mixed-length fibers into the fabric weave, which is essential for an authentic vintage look,” said David Tring, Denim Head at The Magic Of Denim. “I got a close-up look at TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 at the last Kingpins show and it clearly delivers that visual authenticity, with the added benefit of the soft hand feel that TENCEL™ brings. I’m looking forward to seeing how industry partners have developed it further at Kingpins Amsterdam this April.”

Volume 2 includes fabrics made from 100% TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 as well as blends with cotton and linen. The collection covers a range of fabric weights and applications, including garments such as bottoms, shirts, dresses, and all-over designs. Most developments focus on warp applications, where the fibre’s characteristics are most evident.

“TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 embodies the authentic matte aesthetic of cotton while maintaining the superior softness and comfort essential to contemporary denim,” said Lucia Rosin, Founder and Head of Design, Meidea. “By eliminating the typical post-wash grayish hue of classic TENCEL™ Lyocell, TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 preserves a deep, vibrant indigo, which is ideal for high-contrast and vintage-inspired washes. This innovation gives designers greater flexibility: depending on the desired effect and the final look of the garment, we can choose between the characteristic sheen of classic TENCEL™ Lyocell or the sophisticated matte texture of TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100.”

“Since its launch in October 2025, TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 has generated strong interest among our mill and brand partners. In a very short time, we have already secured bulk orders. It is a meaningful milestone in today’s challenging market environment. The distinctive aesthetics it delivers answer a long-standing market demand, driving rapid adoption of this innovative fiber. When a major global retailer puts the fiber on its shelves within months of launch, you know the market was ready. Volume 3 is already taking shape,” explained Tuncay Kılıçkan, Head of Global Business Development, Denim, Lenzing.

The programme has also seen early collaborations, including work between BOSSA and garment manufacturer Rimaks. Their joint concept, Sculptured Volume, uses TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 in designs featured within Rimaks’ Denim Codes collection. The collaboration was previewed at House of Denim in Amsterdam on April 14, 2026, ahead of Kingpins.

The Volume 2 collection will be presented at the TENCEL™ by Lenzing booth, White Area Booth No.16, at Kingpins Amsterdam from April 15–16, 2026. The collection is also accessible through Lenzing Pro (LenzingPro.com), the company’s digital services platform.
