Techtextil & Texprocess 2026 Showcases Global Innovation and Future Textile Technologies

Techtextil and Texprocess 2026 recorded participation from more than 36,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibitors representing 112 countries. The events served as a platform for showcasing developments in textile materials, processing technologies, and industrial applications.

Visitor satisfaction reached 95 per cent, while exhibitor satisfaction stood at 86 per cent overall and 90 per cent at Texprocess. Exhibitors also reported a 13 per cent increase in perceived visitor quality. The exhibitions facilitated business interactions, partnerships, and post-event opportunities despite ongoing global market challenges.

Participants from 112 countries attended the event in Frankfurt. The top ten visitor countries included Germany, Italy, France, Türkiye, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Poland and Switzerland. Growth in visitor numbers was observed from India, Japan, Portugal, Sweden and the USA.

“Volatile market developments are driving lasting changes in business models. Connectivity, flexibility and speed are key success factors in this environment. At Techtextil and Texprocess, relevant partners come together to rapidly translate ideas into applications. New materials and innovations on supply chains are decisive competitive advantages,” says Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt.

Collaboration between research institutions, industry, and application partners was reflected in the Techtextil and Texprocess Innovation Awards 2026. Several award-winning innovations were developed through partnerships. One example includes Samsara Eco’s enzyme-based recycling technology developed with Deakin University, The Lycra Company, Nilit and Lululemon.

Applications presented at the exhibitions spanned sectors including protective clothing, medical textiles, and automotive solutions. Industry participants highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in identifying new applications and markets.

“At Techtextil and Texprocess, it becomes clear which solutions can succeed in cross-industry markets and secure investment. At the same time, unplanned encounters with new business partners open up access to new markets – and drive innovation,” says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

The Nature Performance segment at Techtextil featured bio-based and natural alternatives to synthetic fibres. More than 110 exhibitors presented materials designed for industrial use, offering features such as heat resistance, durability and breathability. Companies including Cordenka and Oceansafe showcased solutions focused on recyclability and reduced dependence on fossil resources.

In the Performance Apparel Textiles segment, exhibitor numbers doubled compared to the previous edition. The segment addressed demand from sectors such as defence, civil protection, and industrial safety. Exhibitors presented materials designed for durability and compliance with safety standards. Companies including Concordia and Advance Hitech Textile International introduced fabrics with enhanced performance properties.

Texprocess 2026 highlighted developments in connected and demand-driven production systems. Industry participants presented integrated solutions linking design, planning, and manufacturing processes to enable flexible production.

“The future of apparel production lies in connected supply chains and holistic business models. Innovative system architecture and efficient technologies are crucial for responding flexibly to market demands and customer needs. The latest developments were presented at Texprocess,” says Elgar Straub, Managing Director of VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies.

Companies such as Style3D | Assyst, Comelz, and Dürkopp Adler demonstrated solutions incorporating artificial intelligence and automation. These included AI-based product development tools, image-processing cutting systems, and sewing technologies designed for integration into digital production environments.
