Tangshan Sanyou and Circ Partner to Scale Recycled Lyocell Fibers in China

Tangshan Sanyou Group’s Sanyou Chemical Fiber and U.S.-based textile recycling leader Circ have entered a strategic partnership to scale recycled lyocell fiber production in China. Sanyou will purchase pulp from Circ’s first commercial-scale facility—expected to go live in 2028—under a five-year agreement.
This collaboration will enable the production of lyocell staple fibers containing 30% recycled content, helping meet rising demand for sustainable materials in the textile industry.
“As one of the leading global MMCF producers, Sanyou’s commitment to Circ demonstrates both the quality of our product and the future of the industry,” said Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ. “Core to Circ—from our technology and products to our partnerships and business strategies—is creating forward momentum towards a truly circular economy in the global fashion industry, and strategic partnerships such as with Sanyou are crucial for the realization of this goal.”
The partnership signifies the importance of collaboration in scaling textile-to-textile recycling solutions. It also ensures that brands have access to high-quality, recycled Circ Lyocell fiber amid growing global demand for sustainable sourcing.
Sanyou has earned top recognition in Canopy’s 2024 Hot Button Report, reflecting its leadership in sustainable sourcing and Next-Gen fiber innovation.
“Both Sanyou and Circ are dedicated in their commitment to fostering sustainable practices that reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry,” said Zhang Dongbin, Deputy General Manager of Sanyou. “This strategic partnership will establish new benchmarks in the textile industry thanks to our shared vision for a sustainable future and circular economy.”
