Swiss Textile Machinery Association Elects New Leadership

The Swiss Textile Machinery Association, which represents Swiss providers of textile equipment, systems, and services, held its general assembly on May 8. During the meeting, industry experts were elected as president and board members.
Davide Maccabruni, CEO of Uster Technologies AG, was chosen as the new president. His main responsibility will be to lead the association's strategic direction. Addressing industry challenges, Maccabruni emphasized, “The Swiss textile machinery industry retains unique strengths that can ensure its future success. To secure this, however, we must align our capabilities, collaborate, and support each other."
Martin Zürcher (Heberlein Technology AG) was also appointed as a new member of the board. He joins existing members Beat Meienberger (Benninger AG), André Imhof (Autefa Solutions Switzerland AG), Andreas Conzelmann (Jakob Müller AG), and Ralph von Arx (Retech AG), who has assumed the role of vice-president.
Davide Maccabruni takes over from Ernesto Maurer, who led the association for ten years. Maurer, who was an active board member since 2011 and became president in 2015, has made remarkable contributions to enhancing the Swiss textile machinery industry's innovation and global recognition.
Founded in 1940, the Swiss Textile Machinery sector is the oldest division within Swissmem, representing 42 companies, including textile machinery and component manufacturers, as well as service providers. The association focuses on fostering innovation and education among its members, with an emphasis on international market access campaigns, such as recent symposia held in Mexico and the US, with an upcoming event planned in Morocco later this year.
