Surgical Robotics Industry Awards 2026 Announces Winners Across Six Categories

Moon Surgical, SS Innovations International, Microbot Medical and other recipients recognised through global community voting

Surgical Robotics Technology has announced the recipients of the Surgical Robotics Industry Awards 2026, recognising achievements by individuals, companies, healthcare providers and technologies within the surgical robotics industry.

According to the organisers, winners are selected each year through voting by the global surgical robotics community. Since the awards were launched, more than 50,000 votes have been cast, making the programme a form of peer recognition within the sector.

Industry Leadership

Winner: Steve Bell – Expert in MedTech & Surgical Robotics

Steve Bell has more than 30 years of experience in MedTech, including over a decade leading multiple startup divisions at Johnson & Johnson. He also spent 20 years building and scaling MedTech startups globally. During his career, he has raised more than $1.5 billion in capital and contributed to the growth of Europe’s largest medical device unicorn. He currently provides advisory support to several surgical robotics companies.

Innovative Start-up

Winner: Microbot Medical

Microbot Medical Inc. (NASDAQ: MBOT) is a commercial-stage medical device company focused on endovascular robotic technology. Its LIBERTY® Endovascular Robotic System is described as the world's first FDA-cleared single-use, remotely operated robotic solution designed for endovascular procedures.

Outstanding Company

Winner: SS Innovations International

SS Innovations International was recognised for its work in expanding access to robotic surgery through the SSi Mantra Surgical Robotic System. The company reported surpassing 10,500 procedures performed globally with the platform while securing additional regulatory approvals in Colombia, Oman, Sri Lanka and Kenya. It also continues development of its SSI MantraM mobile telesurgery platform for remote training, demonstrations and surgical connectivity.

Groundbreaking Technology

Winner: The Sentante Robotic System – Sentante

The Sentante Robotic System is a teleoperated endovascular robotic platform designed to enable remote vascular interventions using standard guidewires and catheters. The system provides haptic force feedback and real-time robotic control during minimally invasive endovascular procedures. Its commercial version is CE-marked for peripheral interventions, while the next-generation system for ischemic stroke treatment has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and has been accepted into the FDA Total Product Life Cycle (TAP) Advisory Program.

Software Innovation

Winner: Maestro Insights – Moon Surgical

Maestro Insights by Moon Surgical is a digital platform that captures and organises procedural and operational data to provide visibility into surgical workflow, operating room coordination and resource utilisation. The platform is designed to support data-driven management of operating room activities.

Anne Osdoit, CEO, Moon Surgical, said:

"Data-driven decision-making is critical in the operating room. The Maestro Insights Platform gives surgeons, staff, and schedulers a new level of visibility into OR operations, empowering them to anticipate and adapt to the day's flow. Recognition for the Insights Platform is a testament to the dedicated teams and surgical partners who helped bring a scalable surgical experience to life."

Outstanding Healthcare Provider

Winner: Cohen Orthopedic

Cohen Orthopedic, led by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Brian Cohen, provides orthopedic care across Chillicothe, Grove City and Columbus. Dr. Cohen has performed more than 3,000 MAKO robotic-assisted hip, knee and revision joint replacement procedures using Stryker’s MAKO SmartRobotics™ platform. The practice is also developing an ambulatory surgery center focused on infection prevention, surgical innovation and patient safety.
