Strafe Outerwear, recognized for its progressive, high-performance mountain gear, is making a bold entry into the down apparel space with the launch of its first-ever insulated down piece, the Palisade Down Insulator, as part of the FW 2025–2026 collection.

Designed with sustainability and innovation at the forefront, the Palisade represents a collaboration with leaders in technical fabric and insulation — Pertex, NetPlus, and ALLIED Feather + Down. The result is a cutting-edge, eco-conscious jacket engineered for warmth, durability, and minimal environmental impact.

“Our goal with the Palisade was to fuse advanced material science with streamlined aesthetics to create a versatile layering jacket. It’s ideal both as an outer piece and under a shell,” said Pia Halloran, VP of Product & Design at Strafe.

Materials That Make a Difference
The outer shell is constructed from NetPlus® recycled nylon, a material made from discarded fishing nets gathered from coastal communities. These nets are repurposed through a transparent, third-party-audited process into premium 100% post-consumer recycled nylon. This not only prevents ocean plastic waste but also reduces the reliance on virgin fossil-based materials — all without compromising quality.

David Stover, Co-founder and CEO of Bureo, emphasized: “Strafe’s pursuit of environmental innovation aligns with our mission to protect our natural world. It’s more than a partnership — it’s a shared commitment to preserving winter.”

For added resilience, the jacket incorporates Pertex® Quantum with Diamond Fuse technology. This advanced weave structure significantly boosts abrasion resistance and durability while preserving the garment’s lightweight and compact profile — perfect for high-output alpine use.

Premium Down with Certified Traceability
Insulation is provided by 800-fill power goose down from ALLIED Feather + Down, a leader in ethically sourced insulation. Certified under both the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) and Global Recycle Standard (GRS), ALLIED ensures that every feather meets stringent sustainability and traceability requirements across the entire supply chain.

Revolutionary Drying Technology & PFAS-Free Commitment
To further elevate performance, the Palisade Down Insulator includes ExpeDRY™, a breakthrough treatment developed by FUZE Technologies. Using gold-based particles, this innovation speeds up drying and enhances moisture management — maintaining loft and insulation even in damp conditions.

Strafe also remains committed to chemical safety. The Palisade is completely PFAS-free, eliminating per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances commonly used in water-repellent finishes. Despite this, it still offers reliable weather protection, reflecting Strafe’s drive to innovate without environmental compromise.

Available in men’s and women’s sizes, the Palisade Down Insulator will be sold on strafeouterwear.com and through select retailers during the Fall/Winter 2025–2026 season.
