Specialist Sports Group Ltd. Selects Discover e-Solutions for PLM and POM Integration

Discover e-Solutions announced that Specialist Sports Group Ltd. has chosen its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Purchase Order Management (POM) solutions. The implementation is aimed at centralising product development and improving operational processes.

Discover e-Solutions stated that Specialist Sports Group Ltd. will deploy its PLM and POM systems to manage product development and purchasing functions within a unified digital platform. The initiative is intended to improve supplier collaboration and enhance operational visibility.

Headquartered in Southampton, United Kingdom, Specialist Sports operates as a performance sports distribution and brand marketing agency with over 30 years of experience. The company previously relied on manual workflows, including Excel spreadsheets, Illustrator-based Bills of Materials (BOM) management, and email-based communication, which limited visibility and efficiency.

Through DeSL’s PLM system, Specialist Sports will manage product creation, BOMs, size charts, Requests for Development (RFD), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and Quality Control within a single platform. The POM solution will integrate with Microsoft Business Central to provide improved tracking of development progress and product approvals, along with more accurate purchase order scheduling to support timely deliveries.

The company noted that its earlier processes required manual transfer of data across Excel and Illustrator for tech packs and sample reviews, increasing complexity and the risk of errors. With the implementation, tech pack management will be digitised, allowing faster sharing of product information with manufacturing partners, including adidas, through a live portal. This removes the need for repeated PDF exports and email-based exchanges.

“We recognised that our manual processes were limiting visibility and creating unnecessary complexity,” said Amandine Tentelier, Head of Product Development at Specialist Sports. “DeSL allows us to centralise information, improve development tracking, reduce errors in tech pack creation, and collaborate more effectively with our suppliers as we scale.”

The implementation is also expected to support the company’s plans to expand into additional sport categories and increase development capacity. By automating processes and consolidating workflows, Specialist Sports aims to support new product initiatives beyond its Teamwear licensed operations.

Discover e-Solutions stated that it will continue to support Specialist Sports in its operational development and category expansion.
