Spark Factory Goes Live with DeSL PLM | Apparel Digital Transformation

Spark Factory, a Quebec-based apparel manufacturer, has gone live with Discover e-Solutions’ (DeSL) cloud-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform, marking a significant step in modernising its product development operations. The implementation brings multiple teams onto a single digital system designed to improve data consistency, collaboration, and visibility across the entire product lifecycle.
PLM Deployment to Streamline Product Development
Spark Factory selected DeSL’s end-to-end PLM solution to replace fragmented tools and manual workflows that relied heavily on spreadsheets and email communication. These legacy processes had created data silos, limited transparency, and operational inefficiencies across departments.
The deployed solution includes DeSL modules such as Line Planning, Workspaces, Fast Product Management (FPM), Tech Packs, Fast Tech Pack Management (FTM), POM Templates, the Adobe Illustrator Plug-in, Critical Path and Request for Development (RFD) tools, and internal discussion threads. Together, these components connect design, development, and production activities within a unified digital environment.
By adopting DeSL’s integrated PLM ecosystem, Spark Factory now centralises product data, standardises workflows, and improves coordination across teams. The platform enables real-time tracking of product status, consolidates development milestones, and ensures teams work from a single, consistent data source.
Improved Collaboration and Workflow Visibility
Caroline Sauve, Vice President of Operations and Product Development at Spark Factory, highlighted the operational impact of the transition:
“We wanted to get out of the black hole we were in related to technology. DeSL gives us one consolidated place where everyone can see the products, their status, and all the information we need to make faster, smarter decisions.”
The implementation also includes DeSL’s Adobe Illustrator Plug-in, allowing creative teams to link design files directly with PLM records. This integration reduces duplicate data entry, keeps artwork aligned with technical documentation, and supports a smoother transition from design to development.
In addition, DeSL’s latest software release incorporates AI-enabled tools across its PLM platform, supporting task automation, improved data accuracy, and enhanced decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.
Colin Marks, CEO of DeSL, commented:
“Spark Factory’s move to DeSL’s PLM platform reflects a structured approach to digital transformation, replacing manual processes with a connected and data-driven foundation for product development.”
DeSL will continue to support Spark Factory as it further optimises its product development processes using the PLM platform.
