Solvay introduces the world's first partly bio-based textile yarn

Solvay is introducing Bio Amni, the world's first partly bio-based polyamide textile yarn, on a worldwide scale. Polyamide 5.6 is fully manufactured in the company's textile industrial plant in Brazil. Solvay's manufacturing plants in Brazil already have cleaner energy sources, closed water circuits, and zero effluent emissions, as well as more biodegradable goods to facilitate more sustainable disposal.

Solvay's Bio Amni® is a sustainable textile product that prevents textile and user contamination. Solvay also developed the world's first biodegradable polyamide textile yarn, which degrades in three years after being disposed of in regulated landfills. By 2020, the business hopes to have created half of its worldwide polyamides range. It claims to want to provide clients with the most innovative products.
