SHREE Launches Three-Day #NowForClimate Sapling Campaign Across Stores for World Environment Day 2026

SHREE has launched a three-day sapling distribution campaign across its retail stores under the #NowForClimate initiative to mark World Environment Day 2026. Customers visiting participating stores will receive saplings as part of a local awareness effort connected to the observance.

The initiative coincides with the company’s ongoing focus on reducing water consumption in garment manufacturing through the adoption of digital fabric printing technologies.

SHREE has commenced a three-day sapling campaign across its stores as part of the #NowForClimate initiative for World Environment Day 2026. Under the programme, customers visiting stores will be given saplings as part of a local activity associated with the occasion.

The campaign is being conducted alongside changes in the company’s manufacturing processes aimed at lowering water usage. SHREE uses digital fabric printing, a method in which ink is applied directly onto fabric rather than through screen-based printing techniques.

According to the company, this process reduces water consumption by nearly 90% to 95% compared to conventional printing methods.

Traditional textile printing can require between 50 and 200 litres of water per kilogram of fabric. Digital printing reduces this requirement to approximately 2 to 20 litres by eliminating repeated washing processes and minimizing setup-related activities.

The company stated that around 90% of its fabrics are currently digitally printed, while nearly 85% are produced using natural fibres. SHREE also indicated that it plans to further increase the share of these materials and processes over time.

Speaking on the initiative, Sandeep Kapoor Founder & CMD SHR Lifestyles said the idea is to connect production responsibility with on-ground awareness.

“This is not a separate effort for us. The way we make clothes and the way we think about the environment are now connected. From water use in production to a sapling in a customer’s hand, it is all part of the same direction we are trying to move in."
