Japanese knitting technology company to present machinery and 3D digital design solutions in Buenos Aires

SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan, together with its Argentinian representative TEMCO ARGENTINA S.A., will participate in the Simatex 2026 exhibition scheduled to take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina next month.

At the event, SHIMA SEIKI will introduce a range of flat knitting technologies and digital design systems, including solutions aimed at industries beyond conventional fashion apparel applications.

WHOLEGARMENT® and computerized knitting machines to be exhibited

The company will present proposals based on its seam-free WHOLEGARMENT® knitting technology as an alternative to labor-intensive manufacturing processes in the South American market.

Three MACH2®VS machines capable of knitting WHOLEGARMENT® knitwear using every other needle will be displayed in 12, 16, and 18 gauge configurations.

SHIMA SEIKI will also exhibit the N.SVR®122 computerized flat knitting machine in 12 gauge. The machine features technologies including the R2CARRIAGE®, WideGauge® knitting, spring-type moveable sinkers, DSCS® Digital Stitch Control System, stitch presser, yarn gripper and cutter, and takedown comb.

The N.SSR®112 computerized flat knitting machine will also be showcased, offering Japanese-manufactured flat knitting technology in a compact and economical configuration.

SDS®-ONE APEX4 demonstrations to focus on digital sampling

Demonstrations during the exhibition will include SHIMA SEIKI’s SDS®-ONE APEX4 3D design system, developed to support fashion planning, design, textile simulation, and virtual sampling.

According to the company, the virtual sampling system allows digital creation of prototypes intended to reduce the time, material usage, and cost associated with physical sample production. Approved designs can be converted into knitting data and transferred directly into machine programming software, connecting design and manufacturing processes digitally.

SHIMA SEIKI stated that the system contributes to sustainability initiatives while supporting digital transformation across the textile supply chain.
