SHIMA SEIKI to Showcase Flat Knitting and 3D Design Technologies at Egypt Stitch & Tex 2026

Japanese knitting technology company to present automated knit manufacturing, virtual sampling and digital design solutions in Cairo

SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan, together with its sales representative in Egypt, TTS (EL MASRIA FOR TRADE & TECHNICAL SERVICES), will participate in the 24th International Exhibition for Textile & Carpet Machineries, Printing Technologies and Accessories (Egypt Stitch & Tex) from 24–27 September 2026 in Cairo, Egypt.

The company will showcase computerized flat knitting machines and digital design technologies focused on automated knit product manufacturing, 3D virtual sampling and digital integration between design and production.

SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at Egypt Stitch & Tex

Egypt Stitch & Tex is being held at the Cairo International Convention Centre (CICC) and focuses on developments in textile and carpet machinery, printing technologies and accessories.

At the exhibition, SHIMA SEIKI will present solutions supporting digital transformation through sustainable digital technologies and virtual sampling using 3D design systems. The company will demonstrate its latest computerized flat knitting machines and design software.

N.SSR®112 and N.SSR®132 Flat Knitting Machines

The N.SSR® series, SHIMA SEIKI’s global standard in shaped knitting, will be represented by the N.SSR®112 and N.SSR®132 models.

The machines feature high productivity with a compact, lightweight carriage and quick carriage returns enabled by the R2CARRIAGE® system. They also incorporate SHIMA SEIKI technologies including the Digital Stitch Control System (DSCS®), spring-type moveable sinker system, stitch presser, yarn gripper and cutter, and takedown comb.

The N.SSR®112 and N.SSR®132 offer a 52-inch (132 cm) knitting width for larger-sized garments. Optional sub-rollers provide flexibility for different customer and market requirements.

The models are designed to combine cost performance with Made-in-Japan quality, safety, reliability and user-friendliness.

SDS® KnitPaint-Online for Digital Knitting Data

SHIMA SEIKI will also present SDS® KnitPaint-Online, a standalone version of its KnitPaint software.

KnitPaint is used by knitting companies worldwide to create knitting data for SHIMA SEIKI computerized flat knitting machines. Previously available as part of the SDS®-ONE APEX series all-in-one design system, KnitPaint-Online retains its established functions while adding basic planning and design capabilities.

SDS®-ONE APEX4 Enables 3D Virtual Sampling

Demonstrations of the SDS®-ONE APEX4 3D design system will also be available at the exhibition.

The system supports fashion planning and design, realistic fabric simulation and 3D virtual sampling. Virtual samples provide a digital alternative to physical sample making and can be used as prototypes, reducing the time, cost and material associated with conventional sampling.

The system also connects design with production. Once a design is approved, automatically generated knitting data can be converted into machine data, creating a digital link between the design and production stages.

According to SHIMA SEIKI, this capability supports sustainability while contributing to the digital transformation of the supply chain.
