Sammir Dattani Emphasises Innovation and Sustainability in Technical Textiles at MATEXIL
Sanathan Textiles showcased its expanding capabilities, infrastructure, and product portfolio in the technical textiles and sports-tech segment at Techtextil India 2025, held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. At the event, the company presented a comprehensive range of yarns for the technical textile sector, one of the fastest-growing areas in the industry. Sanathan Textiles’ product portfolio spans specialised yarns used in construction fabrics, automotive materials, safety slings, luggage, industrial nets, and other high-performance applications. In the sports-tech segment, the company displayed innovative yarns offering moisture management and dry-cool functionality, widely used in sportswear, gym wear, and athleisure. Additional eco-friendly coloured and self-stretch yarns underscored the company’s focus on sustainability and performance enhancement.
During the Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council’s (MATEXIL) GenNext Panel Discussion on “Prospects & Potential for Technical Textiles Exports,” Sanathan Textiles’ Executive Director, Sammir Dattani, joined other emerging leaders to discuss export opportunities, innovation pathways, and the evolving role of India in global textile markets. Panel members included Kanav Jhunjhunwala of Sarla Performance Fibers Ltd, Gautam Dalmia of Strata Geosystems India Pvt. Ltd., Rahul Bajaj of Khosla Profil Pvt. Ltd., and Anish Jiwarajka of Jiwarajka Textile Industries. The discussion covered growth opportunities across geotextiles, protective wear, filtration, medical textiles, and mobility solutions. The panellists agreed that India’s strong manufacturing base can drive export-led growth through deeper specialisation, innovation, and technology adoption.
Dattani noted that India’s technical textiles sector is entering a critical growth phase, emphasising that the coming decade will be defined by companies focusing on advanced materials, integrated supply chains, and sustainable manufacturing. “India’s technical textiles sector stands at an inflection point. As next-generation leaders, our responsibility is to shape an industry that is globally competitive, innovation-first, and deeply rooted in sustainability. The future will belong to companies that invest in advanced materials, integrated supply chains, and responsible manufacturing practices,” he said. The discussion repeatedly underscored sustainability as a key driver of future development, with global markets showing increasing demand for recycled, energy-efficient, and high-performance textile solutions. Industry representatives reaffirmed their commitment to scaling innovation responsibly as India strengthens its position as a global hub for technical textiles.
